Becel... id it really that bad for you?

Ok, Im not one for margarine but I discovered that I love this stuff. My aunt was saying that now that Im pregnant, I have to stay away from the half fat this, reduced this and that. So I was wondering, has anyone been told by their doctor that margarine is a no-no when pregnant? Any other tips of stuff to stay away from would be great as I dont know much other than no tobacco and alcohol but I dont drink or smoke anyways.

as far as fish is concerned there are all different types you can eat, only a few to avoid eating. some you have to limit to a specific serving amount every month. the best website to look at for this is http://www.*****************.org/pregnancyhealth/fishmercury.htm
as far as lunchmeat is concerned you can eat it as long as you heat it until its steaming ( a zap in the microwave for about 30 seconds should do the trick), dont eat unpastuerized cheeses, normally this would be soft cheeses like feta, brie, mexican queso blanco, and other blue cheeses although most cheeses now are pasteurized. like feta for example, most you find in the grocery store is perfectly safe.
dont eat sushi and raw meats, generally avoid cookie dough if it has raw egg in it, 1-2 caffeinated drinks a day are considered safe...thats about all i can think of. ive never heard the margarine thing although i wouldn't worry too much about it needlessly. good luck!!

I was never told to stay away from margarine, because in some ways it's healthier, but I have no idea because I've never heard that.....

aside from the obvious (no drinking, drugs, or smoking) you should stay away from tuna and other large open ocean fish in large amounts, unpasteurized egg-products, and they recommend staying away from deli meat (high preservative amounts) and cheeses like mexican cheeses and swiss (because of the process they use to age them introducing bacteria), less than 300mg of caffeine a day, uhh....

they recommend staying away from dying your hair or bleaching your teeth, and you should use makeup made of minerals and natural products, not chemicals (although I never really pay attention to what my makeup is made out of LOL). truthfully you should stay away from reduced-fat products in SOME cases because sometimes they substitute natural fat with some sort of chemical, and diet anything is usually a no-no.....

you're pregnant so eat real solid food with real fat (in moderation of course ;) ) and enjoy eating without guilt, hehe. I gained VERY little weight with my daughter and I lost it all in the delivery room, and it looks like I'm on the same track with this baby so either my body is REALLY lucky Or i've got a good system going....eat for one really healthy person, and not for two...eat real food, and be moderate.

also take a walk every day; between a short walk and the energy your body is spending on your baby, you'll be able to use up the calories in a productive way :).

my mind is a little all-over-the-place at the moment so I'm really not sure I made a lot of sense, or even answered your question but.....you know me and I tried, LOL. Glad your stomach is feeling better and I hope your leg feels better soon :D
