Bed rest ?

What are reasons someone might be put in bed rest? What happens when you're bed rest?

I was on bedrest for both of my pregnancies.  My first one was for bleeding and high blood pressure, second was for high blood pressure.  I was allowed to get up and go to the bathroom, take a shower, go to my dr. appointments, but other than that I had to be lying down or very reclined in the chair.  So far with this pregnancy everything is ok. There are many reasons someone may be put on bed rest....depending on the situation. If you are pregnant, it could be because of high blood pressure, hypertension, or things along those lines. If you are not pregnant, it could be because of the same things. Stress, surgery, treatment, relaxation (overstressed), and other thinsg like that could be why someone is put on bed rest.
