Spotting will be very light and won't last more than a day or two. Periods you generally have at least one or two more heavy days, and last longer.

Thank you. I understand it better now. I'll keep you posted. How do I know the difference between spotting and a period. Because I don't know if it's my period or I am spotting?

If your spotting goes to a period, it's just a period, so you wait until you're done and then you try again. But after you conceive it takes somewhere in the range of 8-10 days for the baby to implant and start producing the hormones that the pregnancy test measures, so that's why I say wait 2 weeks...doing it earlier would probably be a waste of your money.

If your period doesn't come every month, it might mean that you don't ovulate every month which could make having a baby harder. I'd talk to your doctor if you have any trouble conceiving, but it takes over a year for some people who are trying.

I am trying. I don't get my period every month. So I'll take a test after my spotting is done. Should I be worried if my spotting goes to a period? And how long well I spot for?

From two days ago? Yes, wait until you miss your period or at least two weeks or so, and then take a test. You usually don't have symptoms this early, so maybe distract yourself while you wait. :)
