My SIL's sister got it with her 2nd pregnancy I believe it was. She has had 2 more children since then and I don't believe she got it again with her other pregnancies. I wish I had a straight answer for you but I don't.
Thanks guys... I did ask my doctor about it a year ago and she couldnt give me a straight answer. She said because I had it in my first pregnancy the chances of getting it again in the second one would be high. So I just wondered if anyone out there had it with two pregnancies. But I ahevnt found anyone yet....
My sister had it a couple years ago and she was not pregnant though. THey told her she could get it again and she had to limit her stress and eat right and not use cookware with teflon or metals, only glass or coated cast iron( but that is expensive I think) but other then that I know nothing about it. Yep stress and trauma can trigger it.
My godfather had it but he was in his 60's when he got it. He had to have physical therapy because his left or right side, can't remember, was paralyzed. I remember looking at him and crying because I realized he was getting older and he's the only father figure I ever had in my life. After a year he was fine. But I never heard about it in pregnancy, that's so strange.
I just had it with this last pregnancy. Man super scary!! I didn't know what the heck was happening and then to be pregnant on top of that?? Man, I cried for 2 days. Anyway, I had also had surgery just a few days before the Bells Palsy symptoms began and read that trauma to the body can also cause it. So I don't know if it was the pregnancy itself, or the surgery I had had just 3 days prior to my Bells Palsy beginning. I heard the BP normally shows itself right after delivery versus during the actual pregnancy. I will be very curious to see what the doc says. Please let me know. I don't know that I will have another, but in the chance that I had one more, I'd be curious to know if there is a chance. I mean, I guess there is always a chance but I'd be curious to know the probability.
Take Care,
Michele
I had bell's palsy when I was 16 and knew that it could return whenever. I didn't get it with my pregnancy, thank God. But I hear it is a possibility, ask your doctor about the chances of getting it again.
