I've had them done at different times. First daughter was at 28 weeks and she was still really slim and tiny. My next daughter we did 29-30 weeks and her face was much fuller and we got better shots.
With my last daughter I believe I was 32 weeks and they were, by far, the best. All were done at the same place.
When you call they will tell you the best time to do it. Further along is usually best but not past 36 weeks.
I did mine with both my boys around that time. Sadly they both did not cooperate and all I got was close up pictures of their "manhood"
Hopefully yours will go better!
yes, that why i dont want to wait to long cause i know that they get smashed and they are left with no room to move around but i at the same time i want to have a good pic of her face as she will look at birth to see her facial features well, but im not going past 29 weeks because i have seen some pics that i dont like.
Here where I live they recommend that you have your 3D-4D ultrasound done between 28-34 weeks, but they prefer to do it by or before the 28th week the reason for that is so that the baby still has room to move around and isn't too smashed. Also I would schedule your appointment as soon as you know that you are going to have them done, since they get booked very fast. I actually already scheduled mine when I was only 19 weeks pregnant. They also told me to drink plenty of water a week before my appojntment to insure good pictures. Hope this helps =0)
My doc won't do the 3d/4d scan until between 32-35 weeks. He says that's when the face is fuller and will provide for better pictures. Last time I had it at 32 weeks and got some really awesome pictures. They looked JUST LIKE my son when he was born.
If you'd like you can look at my profile pics. On the 1st page...the 1st 2 pics are from my last pregnancy. One is at 29 weeks the other at 33 weeks. If you go to page 2 you can see a 4d pic from this pregnancy at 20 weeks <--that one looks like a little alien LOL. But both the 29 and 33 week pics from my last preg look EXACTLY like my son.
