So i gave birth to my second Child 5 months ago. ever since my bleeding has not been normal i did bleed for about 1 1/2 months right after i had her then i stopped for about 2-3week then started again. now more recently i will bleed for a week then stop for 2 week then start again and bleed for a day then stop for a day then bleed for 2 or 3 days in a row then stop i have NO pain and i am NOT bleeding extremely heavy i DO have small clots sometime about the size of a pea. i AM breeatfeeding and i am NOT on any birthcontrol i had a smooth delivery and the doctor gave me the "Ok" at my 6 week check-up and i am in my early 20's (if that matters) it just seem as if i am always bleeding . i just wanted to know if anyone has experienced this or if i should be worried. Thank-You
No, this is not normal to be bleeding like this--especially if you're not on some form of birth control. There could be a few different things causing it, but all would need to be evaluated by a doctor. Your lining could be thick, you could have retained tissue, etc. If your doctor won't listen or dismisses you, get a second opinion.
I would contact your doctor to make sure everything is fine but I'm betting it's because of you breastfeeding. Some women will miss their period all together, get it later on or bleed or spot occasionally!
I hope you get it worked out soon...that must be terribly frustrating and draining!
p.s...I have a friend that was getting her period every 2 weeks and it was because she was still breastfeeding. She stopped and her cycles have gone back to normal. I'm by no means not telling to stop breastfeeding though...you should do what is best for you and your baby!
