Blue Dye positive, Pink Dye negative?

I got 2 blue dye tests at dollar general that say "compare to first response". I take the first one and around 7 minutes theres a wide and thick blueish/gray result. Since I see more blue than gray I take it for a positive. That was at 7pm. At 11pm I take the second one and at exactly a minute and a half a clear blue line, pencil thin, skinny, but easily seen shows up. Evaporation lines only show up after the test time right? So this has to be the real deal...the next day I run out and buy the First Response with lines, the First Response digital yes/no, and the EPT digital. All are negative. HUH?!! I haven't told anyone yet as I'm unsure what to tell them. I went to Wal-Mart the day after that and got a box with 3 EPT's and the Equate lines blue dye. Equates are positive, EPT's (plus minus version) all negative. I had a period 4 weeks ago that was regular, but no clots and no breast soreness as usual. My cervix has been high, soft, and wet for the last 2 weeks, but my BBT's are low...97.4 up to 97.7. I'm taking a clinic test Monday, just curious as to what I should believe...

This is a fairly old post.  You may want to start a new post with your question as these get ignored quite often :-)

Hi, new to the site. We are ttc after a tubal reversal in January 2012. I used a blue dye rite aid brand test and I had a very very faint line also show up a little to the left. I threw it away, hoping to test again the next morning. The next day (10 dpo) i took 2 of the same test (different box) and again i had a line SO faint a little to the left just like the day before. After work, went and bought the FRER pink dye, waited 6 hours to pee, and it was negative took another blue dye with it, and this time no line on it either. This morning now 11dpo, the FRER shows negative. I am so confused. A line is a line? the faint lines were showing up right away, no waiting, but now what? Am I pregant? please let me know what you think, I just want to know either way...

Well her it is, 11 days later and still no period. Splurged on a few more tests to see if anything else will come up now. All pink dyes are negative, though I didn't buy any First Responses this time. Just dollar tree. I got a couple of the CVS Blue dye ones again and still the same blue, thin, off to the left line showing up within the time limit. I have a clinic test set for Thursday, 2 days from now. I'm on CD 34. Last period was 42 days, one before that was 38 so I'm closer now. Last period was Jul 23 so, yes I am technically late but since periods are irregular...who knows...AF shows when she wants to.

I used to volunteer at Birthright and the tests we used were really good. So I would assume you're not pregnant at this point. Good luck! Hopefully your period will show up soon.

Blue dye tests are still positive, digitals and dollar tree tests are all negative. Went to birthright and their test is no. Guess I'll accept that I'm not and only use pink dye tests from now on. Thanks all!

It too have had evap lines come up within the time you should read a test, even with the pink dye test called acu-clear. Use a First Response with your FMU.

I've had evap lines show up within the time you should read a test.

First, save your money! Instead of taking them all in one day, try one in the morning when you first wake up. If your period is not even due yet, wait until it is due for the most accurate result. If it is late, then you may need a blood test to confirm what is going on.
