Bought the first outfit today!!!!

So I had my ultrasound on Tuesday and we found out we are having Fynnigan! Today I went out and bought the first boy outfit, it felt so strange buying baby clothes! This is my first so I was so excited. I bought a little Roots sweatsuit with the pants and a matching zipup hoodie. Im sure noone even really cares, but I thought it was exciting and share it with everyone. Oh, I also got a onsie that says, "Handsome like my Daddy!

My advice is to not buy TOO much in the 0-3 month range.  For one thing, you don't know how much your baby will weigh when he's born:  these days, there are so many 8, 9 and 10 pounders born....who wouldn't be fitting into 0-3 month stuff for very long!

Sleepers are the most practical for this age group as well....but it's hard to resist the itty bitty jeans, etc.!!

My youngest is now 13 weeks (so, 3 months) and is still wearing a couple of his 0-3 month sleepers, onesies and cotton pants - but he's "average" length and weight (we were at the doctor's for his first immunization on April 16, and he weighed 11lbs. 11ozs. and was 23.5 in. long then).  He was 6lbs. 11ozs. at birth.

I was wondering how much 0-3 month clothing I should buy. I have a few things in that size but I don't wanna go crazy, do babies usually fit 0-3 for awhile or could you have a bigger baby that doesn't even fit 0-3, i'm a first timer and don't know how quickly babies grow, or even how big they can be when they come out!

It's always so much fun buying baby stuff.  I just found out I'm having another girl.  I went through all my girl stuff that I've kept and realized that I don't have NEARLY as much newborn and 0-3 mos stuff as I thought I did, so of course I did a little shopping. Nothing overboard, I figure I'll buy a little each week.  It's funny though becuase I already have the complete outfit (minus bib) that I want to bring her home in but she isn't even close to having a name LOL

Congratulations on finding out you're having a baby boy - I have two, 3.5 years old and 13 weeks old....and they're so fun and precious :-)  We saved one of our older son's newborn sleepers, one that we had picked out...and we'll do the same for our younger son, too.

Of course we care, were all mommies or soon to be mommies, we know how it is, i didnt get the pleassure of buying the very first outfit for my baby, my mother came home with the cutest sleeper one day!! I loved it, and then my sister bought him 2 more outfits.. then i had my shower and got tons of clothes.. I didnt get to buy the first outfit from mommy and daddy until about 34 or 35 weeks, its really sad and depressing now, but owell hes got tons of clothes now...  and ill get to buy his clothes for the next 18 years or so.. So it will be okay,.. Congrats on the baby boy!!!  Im having a boy too.. Due in 7 days!!

I bought a neutral onsie pants outfit when I was 6 weeks pregnant but when I found out it was a girl I went out and bought a dress outfit.

picking the first outfit is a special time....and an excitiing one...i left my u/s on monday and went straight to jcpenney and got my baby 3 outfits and my fiance has been picking out outfits every time he goes out...its fun and its supposed to be...congrats :)

I can't wait until I buy Marley's first little outfit. I got one when I graduated from my fertility doctor which is too cute =) I haven't decided what to buy but I am one of those women that like to buy tons of onsies (I did for my boys anyways) but I am sure that girls are way different!

I think it is very special when you get the first outfit. I have Fionn's packed separately from all his other clothes and it will be put away for him for when he is older.
