Breakouts

For the past 4 weeks I've been having horrible skin problems. I have terrible acne breakouts on my face, my chest, and my shoulders. It's never in my life been this bad, and its making me self-conscious. I understand that skin problems is a part of pregnancy, but I still havent had a positive test, which doesnt seem to make sense to me since the acne would be caused by a surge in hormones. Has anyone else experienced terrible acne??  Has anyone else ever taken this long to get a positive test, including a blood test??? I'd be 8 weeks and 4 days if I am pregnant.  Does anyone know what else could cause such terrible acne for 4 weeks straight?? (its not due to pms)

I know JUST how you feel.  I had a miscarriage in August and hadnt had a period yet and I REALLY thought I was pregnant.  I had ALL the symptoms..I know what being pregnant feel like b/c I have a 3 yr old already.  Anways I had the sleepyness, sick to my stomach, dizzy,i even had what I thought was implantation bleeding...I kept getting negative home test and i got 2 negative blood test.  They ran my blood to check my hormone levels last week..they have the results in today but I wont know anything until Monday...they think that I am feeling this way b/c I am not ovulating.  I would have them check my hormone levels.  Good Luck

Hopefully the ultrasound will help you figure out what it is.  If your arent pregnant maybe you should see a specialist to get your period back on track, because if you are trying to conceive it can be real frustrating if you are missing periods.
Good luck and I hope they give you an answer.

I have an ultrasound scheduled for November 9th. Its the closest appointment they had. The blood tests i had were at 3 and a half weeks and 6 and a half weeks. Maybe my hormones are just out of whack. Who knows. I really do feel pregnant, and I'm positive its not all in my head. Guess I just have to wait and see.

well, let me first say, i'm not pregnant.
for the past 5 months, we've been trying.  like i said, i got off the pill and started breaking out.  i've taken a ton of HPT and in fact, had two blood test for the past two months (1 in august and 1 in september) and all came back negative.  got my period in october.

Well if you missed your period and arent pregnant that it could be because of that.  Maybe your hormones are out of whack...sort of like puberty.  It is rare to be pregnant and get a negative quant blood test.  Most likely people will get neg HPT tests for a while but a blood test should always be accurate.  You might want to talk to a Dr, get an u/s done or something to see what is going on.

wow, that gives me some hope. I'm not entirely convinced that I'm pregnant becauae of all the negative tests, but I feel like I am and I dont know what else would explain all of the symptoms. When you were testing did you ever get a blood test that was negative as well or was it all just HPT's??  Cause I've also had two negative quantitative blood tests.

i was on the pill for 5 years, for the most part, it was to help me with my acne.

when i got off of it in May 2007, i started breaking out big time.. actually, i'm still breaking out today, but not as bad now. if you were on the pill and got off of it, i think acne comes back for awhile until your body is clean again.  but i do hear that pregnant women tend to get bad skin...but not for long.
