Breastfeeding help, Pleaseeee answer!

I just had my son on the 22nd, I was breastfeeding the first 24 hours but last night I noticed my baby only ***** off of one side, he refuses my left side. So now my right boob is cracked and dry, I can't even wear my nursing pads because my nipple gets stuck to it, even if I just wear my bra. I haven't put him on because I also bleed a little when I'm trying to pull my nipple off of my bra, its like a scab now. Idk what to do to make it better. Any suggestions??

I'm right there with you both my nipples are completely cracked and raw.  My son has managed to rip off all of the top skin off of my nipples. They hurt so bad I have stopped actually nursing and I am currently pumping and mixing with just a littl bit of formula to make sure he is getting what he needs.  The pumping is killing me too, and I am not healing.  I am so ready to give up and switch to formula but my boyfriend doesn't want him on formula cuz he believes it just a chemical. But he doesn't understand how painful this is. I can't do it forever.

I had a tough time when in the beginning with my daughter, the cracked n bleeding is the worse.  She would just want to suck on the tip of my nipple and it hurt so bad.. I had to use a nipple shield it helped a ton with the cracking n bleeding and it taught her how to latch properly.. The first month or two were really rough for me.. Just stick with it, be stubborn about it! It's so worth it..

I had a similar problem. My nipples cracked & bled for about 2 weeks. After that, they still hurt for a week or 2, but then they were painless. Actually they were numb! I could win any nipple cripple contest! (not that it was a regular recreation! Lol) Stick with it. It's tough but its worth it. I found expressing a little and letting it dry on your nipple helped more than any cream I tried.

I had the same problems with my daughter and nursing :-/ ppl keep saying your boobs will toughen up but truth of the matter is that ish is harder than I ever gave credit too. I ended up just pumping for my daughter. It still hurt like hell given the condition my nipples were in at the time but at least she was still getting breast milk. Now that I'm pregnant with my second, I'm DREADING nursing but am going to give it another go. Even the creams didn't do much for me :-/ good luck

You need to make sure he is latched properly.  It takes a lot of patience to keep pulling him off when it isn't right. But your boobs will thank you for it lol.  Definitely get the cream and keep trying the left side.   When he is latched right it may still hurt a little but shouldn't feel like a million needles even with the scab.  Look for a breastfeeding support group if you can.  Breastfeeding is harder to start than many people think

you need to express a little bit of milk and rub it all over the nipple with the scab, this will help it heal, also keep your boobs out and if possible let the sun get on your nipples or at least have then out while the milk absorbs on them and dries, you  should  also express a little on the leftside so when you put bub to that breast he can taste abit of the milk, that should get his interest, you do need to keep up with the feeds even though it may feel uncomfortable other wise your milk supply will dwindle so it will be a case of just perservering for a few more days :)
