Bulging membranes

Ok i got back from my 39 week doc. visit.  I made some progress from last week im now 2 cm dilated and my cervix is real thin.  My baby is as far down as hes gonna go and i guess my membranes are bulging.  My question is has any one else had this before?  If you have how long did it take for labor to start?  I was convinced my water wouldnt break on its own (my moms or sisters never did) and i know that just because theirs didnt doesnt mean mine wont but i just figured.  But now knowing this i figure its gonna break.  

Is there anything i can do to help it break at home haha?  I only have 5 days left till i deliver and i would really like to move some things along!  Any help would be great!

rosa maybe your right sex might do it.  I just hope you go soon....i know how miserable you are right now.  And im sure it ***** seeing people that arent overdue hoping to go soon.  Good luck girl keep your chin up things will happen soon!

Mammaof6---Well thanks for your experience, not what i wanted to hear, but thanks!  Hopefully it wont be 2 weeks (well it wont he will induce me next week if i havent gone yet) but we will see.

Tarrah87---hmmm well i wonder if it makes a difference when your farther along.  I mean his head is just pressing on it so i figured it would just break, but who knows.  My doc. doesnt think i should go that much longer but then again he cant tell for sure!

i had buldging membranes for a few hours and my water break but i was only 21 weeks.

Hi. My bag of water was bulging for about 2 weeks! Finally the 2nd week the doc said to go on over to the hospital n get them to break them. I was like 6-7 cm i believe at that time. Apparently i was having cx but wasnt feeling them. I did that w. my last 3 babies. But yea, thats my experience. Maybe someone else has one that they went sooner. LOl  Sorry and good luck!
