Can I be pregnant?

I need help and I'm desperate. I am on birth control and have been for the past two years. My periods have always been very regular and on time by the hour. But about 6 months ago my boyfriend and I stopped using protection and pretty much relied on BC for a while. Then last month my period showed up really irregular and was not normal at all. I started a day late with no cramping hardly like I normally do and then I ended two days early. I took a pregnancy test a week or two later and all came back negative. So I stopped worrying. Now I took off my patch (the type of BC I take) and I normally don't start until 3 or maybe 4 days after but I started almost immediately and it was a small and a brown color. The next day it got a little heavier but still brown. I don't know what's going on and I am not sure if I'm pregnant and me still taking the BC messed up the pregnancy tests or what but I'm not sure what to think. Any help?

What form of birth control do you use? The best way to know for sure is to take a pregnancy test. Keep in mind that no form of birth control works 100%.
