Cat won't leave me alone??

So like,
my cat Anubis, he's about a year and a half now...
And for the past couple days he just WON'T leave me ALONE.

He has to be EVERYWHERE I go.
And if I leave the room without him and shut the door so he can't follow me, he'll sit there and meow and meow and meow till I go see him.
Or if he sees I'm not coming back in at the moment, he'll sit there and wait for me, or he'll go lay down on his pillow and as soon as he hears that door open, he'll come sprinting out meowing.

Usually he's not big of a snuggler, but he's always been real attatched to me and happy to see me. Not NEARLY as bad as he is now... but still.
Lately he HAS to lay with me when I sleep, or if I'm laying down to relax for a bit.
Either on my pillow next to my head.
Or on the corner of the bed next to me.
Or he'll lay on my hip, or part of my body pillows I sleep with.
Even at the end of my bed by my feet.

I love him to DEATH, but he's been REALLY aggrivating lately.
I'll want to crochett, or use the pc, and he's gatta be RIGHT THERE ontop of whatever I'm doing.
And god forbid I have something to eat or drink- he won't let me be until I've let him smell it or give him a small peice of my food to test out.
It's like he's gatta test it to make sure it's okay for me to eat???

I've heard of animals being aware of pregnancy, but I've NEVER heard of behavior like his has been lately.
Specially with him being so young and NEVER been around ANYTHING pregnant before besides his mother when she was pregnant with HIM. lol

My sisters cat was the EXACT same way when she was pregnant. Her kitty had never been around anyone pregnant before either and was only a year old. Cats just know, it's crazy.

my cat would do that when I was preggo. Now our dog (a rottie) is anywhere that I am as long as TJ is with me.

i would also say the cat can sense that you baby will be here very soon. and it knows that he want have your full attention when the baby does come so it is trying to get it now.

my aunt just had a baby 2 weeks ago and that is excatly what her cat did starting about 3 days before she had the baby, so it looks like you might be having the baby very soon.

i knew i was pregnant all 3 times because my cat mee-mee kept laying on my belly.  He would climb up an rub his face on my belly.  I would waik up at night with my fat cat laying on my belly or the center on my back.  That got old lol.

Cats in particular are very sensitive to your feelings and hormones.  He might be sniffing that the baby is coming soon and wants to be there to "help" or comfort you.

Joy - lol I don't think I've even heard of stargate. I named him after an Egyptian Cat God because I've always had a thing for ancient Egyptian things. I've always felt a sort of connection to it. lol. NO idea why. When hubby n I finally get our own place after college, we're getting a female kitty for my boy and we've decided to use the name Bast, after an Egyptian Cat Goddess. lol

I know cats are supposed to be there to comfort. Cuz boy, I'll tell yah... Anubis has helped me through some TOUGH times in my life the past year and a half I've had him. But JESUS he's taking it overboard.
He has almost NO interest in hubby anymore, where as before, he always wanted Josh. He always wanted to play and be loveable to him. [[I think it's because Josh actually plays with him for HOURS with those stupid toys we get him. lmao.]] But now, he's ALLLLL about me. lolol. As soon as I walk in that door he's sprinting towards me meowing as LOUD as he possibly can, wanting me to pick him up and/or pet him. lol
I've found a way to get him to leave me alone temporarily if I don't feel like being bothered with;
and that's picking him up, holding him, and smothering him with kisses.

He don't mind a few here n there, but when I hold him there and smooch him to death, I don't think he likes it too much. lmao. [[I think it embarrasses him because he doesn't really mind it if it's just me n him. But when someone else is in the room like for instance, hubby, he trips out. lmao]]

They say that animals always sense things first!!!! I agree with what baby edgar said that he is trying to get all your attention now as he knows that soon he can not be centre of attention anymore. I am a big animal lover and dont are what anyone says they have feelings to just like us humans.

Riot_Queen - I have two cats, one is normally quite anti-social. He would basically let you know when he wants to be loved on and the other is a big baby always wanting to be loved on. The two fight constantly now about who gets to sleep where next to me. Which one gets to lay on my belly and they both find it "fun" to follow me around. I find it annoying because I am always having to step over one or the other. They can tell when I am in pain or tired to, because they get alot more clingy. But, I am only 26 weeks preggo, so I have no idea how much worse it can get or if it gets worse as it gets closer to time. I have also noticed a big difference in my dogs too. They used to jump up on me to great me. (80 lb+ lap dogs) But now they just nudge my leg or sit pretty and wait for me to rub their ears. Very odd behavior.

i had the same problem with my cat venus. after i got pregnant she was up my butt 24/7. i couldn't go pee without her sitting in front of me making sure i wasn't leaving her and if i shut the door before she could get in she'd sit there and cry and cry and cry and cry until i was done. she followed me everywhere i went. i couldn't do anything without her being right there with me. whenever i'd lay on the couch or sit at the computer or go to bed....she'd crawl up on my massive belly and sleep. she was ridiculous. my dogs were like that to. not as bad but they were up my butt all day everyday.

First off... thanks for posting this!  I just thought that my cats are mamma's boys lol.  I have 3 fat cats... 2 boys an a girl.  ( Mee-Mee, boy.)  ( Jade Baby, Girl)  ( Wesson, boy)  Jade dose not do it as much as the boys.  But my boys are driving me nuts.  If one is not in my face the other one is.  LOL.  I sit down an they run an get in my lap.  Mee-Mee even rubs his head on my belly.  An I smother them in kissing to get them to buzz off too lol!  It just hurts their little kittie prides lol.  Anita

Anubis has ALWAYS been a mama's boy.
As much as he tried to play it off, he knows he loves my love and affection I give him everytime I saw him.
But then Josh comes around, and I guess he enjoyed being played with, because me, I get a lil tired of playing after a lil bit, but Josh will sit there and play with him for HOURS. lmao

Now Anubis doesn't want pretty much ANYTHING to do with Josh, and he wants nothing more than to be as close to me as possible.

Like right now, I'm laying here on my bed trying to type and he's like, halfway on my arm and hand and it's kinda hard to type.
I ain't gunna try to move him though because I know he's just gunna go right back to where he is, or actually end up ENTIRELY on my arm and hand. lolol.
He's too cute sometimes, but jesus.
A mother needs a break once in a while! lol

My female cat is following me everywhere, and just stands there and looks at me.  When I sit on the couch, she is right up beside me.  When I wake up in the morning, she comes out from under the bed to chase me.  She's always been interested in food, and that is her main interest in life...but within this last month, she's had this change in behavior.

I do think of how animals can predict earthquakes and tsunamis....

I also have a feeling baby is going to come early.....like July 12/13 not my due date of July 26th

I thought I was loosing my mind. I couldnt figure out why all of a sudden my cats wanted to sleep with me more. They usually like sleeping under my husband on his side of the bed but now they step on him just to lay across me. My youngest kitten is my baby and hes really acting different. My older kitten is the one that follows me alot more. Back and forth to the bathroom. All of the house. Im so glad to know its not just me.

That is hilarious. I am currently 15 weeks & cannot stand my cats anymore either. We have to smother Sasha (our 9 yr old russian blue) with lovins to get her to leave me alone too! It works. I feel so guilty bc i do love them but the moment i sit or lay down BAM, all over me. They do not give me space anymore! My 3 yr old bombay Arkham is a hefty boy and always wants to lay on my stomach and follows me around til i hold him. And now that i am pregnant it is worse. Sasha will sit there and just STARE at me sometimes. Absolutely creepy. And now i resent them for their shedding hair everywhere. My head and nose feel super stuffed up from their dander and hair. I think the hormones has made me sensitive to it now. So i get headaches a lot. The oldest cat Wanda (17 yrs) refuses to use the covered box and uses the open pan and kicks litter out everywhere. I know they are innocent animals but i feel disgusted everyday with them. Also i feel like they are getting more stubborn. When i get up to get something and
return to my seat they are in my place lol & they refuse to move! They never did that before. I have to pick them up to sit back down. They just look at me defiantly now when i return. Wow all of this sounds so silly but i am glad to see i am not the only one who feels this way while pregnant towards my brats. I worry my annoyance will only get worse once the baby arrives. Perhaps we both (me and the fur babies) are just feeling overprotective? And it is a terrible clash? Lol. Them of me and me of the unborn baby. wow i am overanalyzing most likely.

My kittie its just like that at nigh omg she is so anoying she wants to lay in my head on my pillow on my belly ... Every where ! She runs and jumps on my belly last time made me bleed .. I though my cat was crazy lol guess not
