Yeah, JoyRenee is right. It can vary a lot from woman to woman. Creamy, sticky or dry are common before and after your fertile period. As you get closer to ovulation it gets more abundant and stretchy. Eggwhite cervical mucus (EWCM) usually indicates peak fertility, but some women only have wet cervical mucus before ovulation. If so, then the wet cervical mucus would be considered peak fertility.

The consistency and color can be anything before you get the ovulation mucous. It can range from milky, creamy, white, yellowish, etc.
If you are dry, you are not fertile at the time. During your dry times, you cannot become pregnant.
