Child Birth Class? & PostPardum depression

Ill be 28 weeks on Thursday....I went to Child Birth Class for my first pregnancy so I personally already know what to expect. However, Im with a new man. This will be his first child (and hes happy because its a boy lol) but im wondering if we should go to Child Birth Classes for HIM. I'm not sure if its necessary for him to go?

Also, another question....
After I had my daughter I had TERRIBLE post-Pardum depression! And didnt take any meds to help me cope with life afterwards (luckily now i dont have it anymore lol) But I do speak to a therapist every 2 weeks...I was wondering (if any of you knew) if my therapist can prescribe me with something to help me with postpardum depression right after the baby is born with out waiting forever.

Yes your drs can give you meds for ppd after delivery.

This is my.first baby but  my obgyn actually prescribed me lexapro when I was 18 its for anxiety and depression. Depression runs in my family my sisters regular doctor prescribed her Zoloft. It doesn't hurt to ask .. if you need it you need it.. I got off mine at Christmas this past year bc I didn't want it to affect my baby... But I'm doing fine. I just hope I don't have postpartum depression ... Just please be careful a girl a went to school with was suffering from ppd and she over dosed on sleeping pills and her depression medicine. Very sad she was only 22 years old and now her mom is caring for her baby girl. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy and don't be  afraid to ask for help :)

It would be good for him to go (my opinion). If he has a pretty good idea about it, maybe not, but it might bring up things he didn't think about and good stuff to talk about or plan for together. Couldn't be a bad idea!
