Cholestasis

Has anyone has Cholestasis? I think I have it. I have severely itchy hands and feet (primarily at night),, nausea, mild depression due to being uncontrollably itchy... I just learned about this disease tonight when google-ing my symptoms. Upon learning how serious this is I immediately went to the hospital. There isn't a doctor there (only on call). When they called the doctor she said I would know if it was my liver because I'd be jaundice... That's not true! That would mean it's advanced. Why would we wait until then!? I'm so frustrated I can't stop crying... I think the on call doctor just didn't want to deal with it... If you've had it what were your symptoms? Should I go to a different hospital (30 miles away?).

No they didn't do any test which was the whole reason I went to the hospital.  I'm 37 weeks. The itching started over a month ago, but keeps getting worse and worse! They didn't even mention PUPPS, but I have no rash just itching. Hopefully my doctor will check my enzymes tomorrow :-/. Why would they risk it if I have insurance and that's what I'm requesting... So frustrating...

Did they run any liver enzyme tests? How far are you during the pregnancy? When did the itching start? Have they mentioned that it may be PUPPS? Make sure that they distinguish between both, as they can be sometimes hard to separate from one another and should be treated differently.

well did they run any tests to ease ur mind?. I have had icthy hands feet well basically everything is icthy but all my liver tests are fine.  hormones in pregnancy can cauae a variety of issues I would call ur personal Obgyn and talk to them about ur concerns. most drs are going assess ur fears if you are really nervous.  that's what I would do
