Circumcision!

Are there any other Jewish Moms out there?! I feel all alone on this, explaining to people why I WILL be getting my son circumsized on the 8th day, and explaining that it is COMPLETELY NECESSARY in my religion. Ugh, ignorant people trying to tell me that my religion and beliefs are wrong frustrate me so much! And the think, some fellow Jewish peolle have been saying that it is innappropriate to have your son circumsized! What is the Jewish religion coming to, and why are people not sticking to the Torah, as any true Jewish/Israel person would?!

im not jewish but im planing on getting my son circumcised. i grew up learning that that was what God wanted and thats what i plan on doing, i wouldn't let people tell you how to raise your child or if u should or should not do it, it is what u believe so go ahead and do it, tell them its what you want and you are his mother not them and if they don't like it to bad.

And I feel bad about the fave that I probably have when people ask me, but I simply cannot help it! One woman said 'Why have him circumsized? It hurts them and it has been sais to devrease sexual pleasure. And if its about religion, that doesn't make sense either. You don't have to be circumsized to go to Heaven'. Like SHE knows my religion, like she knows my beliefs, and like she reads the Torah on a daily basis, knows that a man must be circumcised in the HEART AND IN THE FLESH. Ignorant lady/:

I'm glad I'm not the only one! I read an article today written by an OB/GYN, and she briefly talked about our religion, and she stated that two of the greatest and most well-known books on reasons as to why you should not have your son circumcised were written by two Jewish men. Two men who claim to be Jewish, proclaiming openly ans blatently that it is inappropriate to have your son circumsized! Is that not blasphemy?! Ugh, it made me sick

Im.having a girl and im not jewish but I would.opt to have it done just bc.of the things I hear people say (making fun.of.people that are not) my husband is so that's another reason. I find it odd that people even ask that question. Like what do they say? I would look at them as.if they had two heads bc it's none of their business to know what will be.going.on with my chills private parts.

I'm Jewish/Israeli! If I have a boy I will circumcise because of my religion and beliefs! I understand what you are talking about, I wrote a journal about this issue when it came down to what I believe in and being called a child mutilator..

I'm not Jewish, but I will have my son circumsized. I have been personally attacked for choosing to do this which is wrong. I see it as a personal choice on what you feel is best. I don't care if the woman next to me in the waiting room gets her son circumsized, that is her choice. I have been told and read articles I should loose my sons over me choosing to have them circumcised because I am a child abuser. I say you do what is best for you, and I applaud you following your religious beliefs. Ignore others and their opinions!

I'm not Jewish and if I have a boy I'm having him circumsized because of health reasons I have heard horror stories about infections in boys who aren't.

I'm not Jewish, but do understand why you feel it a necessary thing to do. I certainly wouldnt judge you for it. I dont really get the arguments of non-jewish folk about doing it so that their kids are 'the same' as others (especially given some of the names people choose for their kids to make sure they are different!) , but in the UK it is something that is only done for religious reasons, its not even thought about by anyone other than folk like yourself, so to me it is unusual to hear of it. Everyone has the right to exercise their religious beliefs, its a personal decision (just as it is for those who do it for non-religious purposes, I'm not bashing anyone for it, just saying I understand your reasons better than some of the others I have heard for having it done)
