Confused about a few things! My conception time and ultrasound

This is the first time I have become pregnant, and so unprepared for all the information. I got my period last month on time, and then had sex one week later. I didn't have sex again until 6 days before I should have got my period this month, but it never came. I took a home pregnancy test and it was positive, and the clinic I went to last week they couldn't see anything on a ultrasound and said I must be only like 4 weeks. But does that mean I got pregnant when I had sex 6 days before my period? And can you have sex 6 days before your period, and have it stop your period from coming that soon after? Sorry for the long post, I'm confused and was told to wait for another ultrasound in 2 weeks to find out!!!!

Most likely you ovulated later in your cycle or implanted late.  Since your period comes on the first of every month, that tells me that your cycles are longer than the typical 28 days.  They range more between 30-31.  A woman typically ovulates 12-14 days BEFORE her period starts, however that is just an average.  The fact that you are not bleeding or cramping is a good sign.  In 2 weeks it should have been long enough for you to see a fetal pole and possibly a heartbeat (although if you are only 6 weeks at that point you may only see a gestational sac so don't be alarmed...as long as things have progressed) It is possible that if you had sex on may 24th that is when your fertilized your egg.  As had as the waiting is, that would be the best thing to do .  Good luck!

I am not having any bleeding. It was with the same partner, it just worries me that if I should be 6 weeks right now why couldn't they find anything on the ultrasound? Thats why I was wondering if I could have conceived later in the month. If I had sex May 24th could it stop my period on June 1st? I thought it took longer than that.

If it was a miscarriage you would have bleeding and passing clots. Is that happening? Plus if you had your period june 1 you would of conceived between june 10-16. Although you could of ovulated later so try not to worry. Stress is not good for you or the baby. May i ask if the two sexual encounters were with different partners?

and... I wasn't aware about the HCG levels until I talked to a friend after the doc appt. (Like I said I'm a newbie to all this!) I am trying to get an appt soon to ask them to check that, but in the meantime really stressed about it being a miscarriage.

My period usually comes the 1st of the month, I got it on time on May 1st and it was over about the 5th. I guess I'm confused because if I conceived early in May how am I only 4 weeks? Before the ultrasound they said I should be about 6 weeks, but then when they didn't see anything said I must be only 4 weeks or so. Isn't it more likely I had a miscarriage?

It is possible in some cases to become pregnant 6 days before but not very likely. What were the dates of your last period? That information would help alot. Most women ovulate 14 days into their monthly cycle. With day one being the first day of your period. I hope this help you some.

Hi there, yes you could have ovulated quite late in your cycle which means it is possible that you concieved 6 days before your period was due.  Have they done any bloods yet your check your HCG level?
