Constipated during pregnancy

Im almost 8wks with my 2nd n constipated. Never had this problem with my 1st. I kno it could b frm the iron in my prenatal vitamins or frm my pregnancy. I also read early signs of ectopic. I have no bleeding jus little cramps here n there. Jus wanted some advice n peace of mind tyvm. Also doin my 1st vaginal ultrasound on fri. Crossing figers all is well

Thank you guys very much! I will follow all ur advice. Also one more thing with my first I got really bad morning sickness n quit cigaretts cold turkey. This time I wasnt sick enough to quit. I cut dwn a lot n feel super bad smoking. Is their something dr can perscribe me for quiting? Its so hard to quit but it has to b done its not fair to baby :(

There are prenatal vitamins that have a gentle stool softener in them to help counteract the extra iron, or just the pregnancy in general.  Or you can continue with the prenatals you are on and take a stool softener.  Most of them are considered safe throughout pregnancy for the normal healthy pregnant woman.

It's most likely not an ectopic pregnancy cus you'd be hurting/cramping all the time.
Constipation is very common during pregnancy. I had it really bad. There are a few things you can do.. talk to your doctor about them. I never did anything.. lol just roughed it out. Which was bad because it caused me to get a hemorrhoid. So I suggest you talk to your doctor about a remedy. (: lol

I had the same problem this time around. I took prenatal vitamins containing colace until about 16 weeks, as well as fiber pills since my nausea kept my diet pretty bland. Good luck for your u/s!
