Could I be pregnant 5 weeks after miscarriage?

Just to make sure I got all the details in...I miscarried Nov 1, 2007 at 18weeks... two days after my husband and i started trying again. I did not have a D & C but the baby was passed whole with the afterbirth. Now I took a pregnancy test (EPT) around the 15th of the Nov and it was negative then I waited until about the 21st and took another it was positive with a faint line. I took 3 more tests all came out positive. Then on the 27th I had blood drawn for a beta hcg and my level was at a nine. I just got the results on the 4th and I started what I think is my period on that same day Nov 4th. But I have no cramps or any period symptoms. Could I be pregnant or could it be left over from the miscarriage? Or could it be a new pregnancy that I caught really early? Has anyone been through anything similar? I didnt get my hcg levels tested right after the miscarriage so what is going on?

My hunch is that you're not pg since the hcg was only 9.  The negative pg test was most likely a fluke.  It IS possible to get pg that soon after a miscarriage.  I would think it would be highly unlikely though after an 18 week pregnancy.  Call the dr and ask for another blood test to make sure.

wow ladies I m/c 11/15 and I am ttc so you are preg again. I have a feeling that I might be preg again but I am not for sure Io want to be but I am so afraid though....we began to be actie 1 wk later what are the doctors saying

Its possible. However its possible that the negative you got was a false negative. The only reason I say this is because EPT are supposed to be able to detect levels as low as 25 which on the 21st it sound like you had at least that because you came up positive. Then on the 27th the blood test only read 9 which makes me think that it may be going down. I had a miscarriage at 6w5d and it took about 4 weeks for me to show not positive on a test and then another 2 after that to get pregnant again. However I am not a doctor so I couldn't say for sure.

hello. i m/c around 10/12-16th. i had an u/s yesterday and they put my date of conception around 11/07. so that was a cpl/few weeks:)   well i guess i should say i found out i was preggo again on 11/08. i still dont understand how if tha is the case, it showed up on a test 1 day later. lol  but oh well.....   yes hon it is possible!  good luck to you:)

it is possiable i dont think your hcg would go down then back up if you werent pregnant is the tests you got the negitive and the positive with the same brand some are more sensitive than others sorry about your loss we lost a baby at 13 weeks nov 18 2007
