Could contraction feel like gas?

I know it sounds dumb. But out of no where i got nauseous and i feel like i have a fever && i got this pain in my lower back. At first i thought they were gas. They feel like i have gas, but i try to fart and nothing. I sat on the toilet for a good five minutes and nothing came out. I dk if i ate something bad or something since I'm starting to get chills even though I'm bundled up. I'm 40w 4d. I have a feelin its gas since i can hear my tummy rumbling.

If its in your back and you are tightening it kind of sounds like back labor to me. Are the consistent pains?

Ya when I get braxton hicks contractions my stomach tightens up. That's how I know I'm having them. I'm 28 weeks

Quick question. I thought the belly would tighten up for Braxton Hicks?
It does get hard when i get the pain and then the back pain stays and just gets stronger but i don't think its enough to be like"I'm in labor" lol thank you!!

if you are having pains and want to know whether they are contractions or not, then feel your belly when you have the pain if it is so hard like a rock then it is a contraction, if it isn't then it is eight Braxton hicks or gas...
hope this helps

Hi.  With my first child I had no idea what contractions felt like.  I thought the baby was moving too much,  and each time he moved it got more and more painful. It took a while to realise that the pain was coming in intervals....then it struck me, that I was having contractions.  God bless!
