Cramps? and other stuff

So I'm having mild cramps on and off, I want to blame it on coughing with this cold that I have which everytime I cough well it jerks my lower belly.
But having had a miscarriage previously it scares the heck out of me to have some any cramps.  I know I've read a million posts with the same question, but I need reassurance, are cramps normal??? I don';t have any lower back pain at least.

Then the other question, I have this stupid cold and I can't take any medicine, but, can I take natural supplements or home remedies like "Airborne" while pregnant??

I can tell you that all your symptoms will come and go (well its at least possible because mine did).  I had morning sickness start around 6 weeks and before my first doctor's appointment it went away for a few days - as much as I hated it I freaked out because the symptoms went away!  Some women don't get any symptoms while other's get a lot.  But yes, they will come and go.  I think you can take other Tylenol products, but just be careful with the ones that have Dexo-something because that isn't supposed to be good while pregnant (though I don't know how it wil affect your baby this early on).  I know you can find websites that grade the safety of medications during pregnancy but I just can't remember which ones.  Just relax and enjoy your moment :)

Also, my BB soreness came and went but started again a few months ago - I think when the milk starts developing they hurt again.

Does the breast soreness come and go too?  Some days my bbs hurt bad, then other times they are sore but not so bad....
Maybe I should get all these nagging questions out once and for all! :P
I haven't taken anymore Airborne and the cold seems to be going away, tHANK GOD!  I'll keep drinking alots of fluids. :)

Thanks for your replies!

I had mild, period like cramping start 2 days before AF was due (so I was sure I was going to start).  But I was pregnant and had that same mild cramping for about 2-3 weeks after.  The doctor had told me that they don't see patients until 9-10 weeks along, as protocol.  So of course the cramping was freaking me out (since I too had a m/c before), so the I had them check my hcg levels to see if they were rising.  The one thing I had to remember is "whatever will happen, will happen" and I needed to just enjoy everyday of my pregnancy.  It was a long wait for me (I had to wait about 4 1/2 weeks for my first appointment), but once I saw my levels rising my stomach began to calm down - because I was stressing and got really gassy.  This should be an exciting time for you, so be sure to just take it day by day and enjoy each day.  Also, the cramping came back for me about 1 1/2 months ago, but I can tell it's the round ligaments.  Cramping is normal, but if you FEEL like the cramps you are having aren't normal then you should trust your instinc and go to the ER - or find a doctor ASAP.  Or just use your other doctor for now and see what she can do for you.  Best of luck to you and enjoy the next 9 months!

I had cramps so bad I actually went to the ER at one point early early on...I had cramps from 4 dpo to at least 8w...every day...luckily they were usually mild and would come and go...eventually when I had them I felt like it was normal, my uterus was growing etc. AND then when they went away I was scared to death!  I sooo know how you feel with the mc and becoming pregnant again...I was a worry wart this time!  I'm almost 19 weeks and I still worry all the time!  I saw my baby doing somersaults in my belly at the ultrasound and I still worry because I cannot feel him move...It will always be something!  I wouldn't take the airborne because too much vitamins can be bad and even green tea can be bad and a lot of herbal things can bring on labor or suspected miscarriage.  I freaked when I started reading about herbal teas!  babydreams gave you good advice...warm shower or bath, vicks, humidifier, lots of liquids and rest!

Cramps are very normal and probably a good thing if you think about it.  Hopefully your little one is getting well implanted and growing fast.  My first pregnancy was am/c too and I was a nervous wreck my second pregnancy.  It is totally normal to feel freaked out.  I would always tell myself once I get to 12 weeks I will quit worrying.  I would make it to that point then say .....nah, once I get to 20 weeks I will quit worrying.  It was that way until I hit 38weeks.  LOL then I wanted him out because I was worried about him being in there!

I've been having cramps, just mild. Nothing major. I also have had a miscarriage, so everything scares the hell out of me. but I've been looking everything up and from what I read its normal, and just your uterus stretching making room for the beautiful baby growing :)
Congrats

Cramps are pretty much normal in the first stages of pregnancy. I had them, but they were not like regular period cramps... hard to explain. They were just different! I had a miscarriage last fall (a year ago yesterday, actually) so I totally understand how you feel. I had to constantly remind myself to stay calm and rational throughout my entire pregnancy!

Airborne is basically just a bunch of vitamins and minerals, so if you're already taking a prenatal I'd advise against taking even more vitamins. I had 2 colds when I was pregnant and it was miserable.... and unfortunately they seem to last longer. Robitussin is safe to take if the symptoms are unbearable. Otherwise you can try a warm bath (the steam helps clear your sinuses, and baths are safe as long as they're not super hot and you dont stay in for hours!) as well as Vicks vapor rub. You can also sleep w/a vaporizer in your room to ensure you get more restful sleep, which will help you recooperate and feel better faster. Drink TONS of water - it helps keep all the gross cold "fluids" moving. Tylenol is also safe to take for body aches and sinus pain.

Best wishes to you, and get well soon! :)

Thanks Alaysha.  Its scary isn't it to go through the first stages of pregnancy when you've already had a miscarriage?... The cramps aren't bad at all they are pretty mild but they are there!  I can't really go to the ER cause my co-pay is $250 :( and I don't have a Dr. yet, because I don't want to go back to my old Dr. after my miscarriage, she was sooooo cold and inhuman towards me, I'm going to make an appointment with a new Doctor on Monday.  I only have you ladies for now. :)

I figgured that since its a natural supplement that I could take it, at least it doesn't have harsh chemicals like any OTC medicine, but not sure.  I'm just sick of being sick!!

Yep cramps are COMPLETELY normal! I remember when I got pregnant again after my miscarriage I was freaking out about cramps and no what how many people told me they were normal I still ended up going to the hospital just to make sure. The only time cramps aren't normal is if they are really, REALLY bad. Like make you double over bad. Also coughing and sneezing and all those fun things pull the already stretching ligaments so dont be surprised if you get a weird stretching pain every time it happens. :)

Now I'm not sure about the Airborne... but you might want to call your on call doctor and ask about Robitussin. When I was sick during my pregnancy I was ok-ed to take that.
