thank you I had never heard of it and it's so hard to get comfortable now a days I never sit that way for long
yea it's cos of the blood flow, at the hospital after you have your baby they tell you to make sure you don't lay with ur ankles crossed so your feet don't get swollen.
You just have to be careful and not keep them crossed for a long period of time because you have a lot more blood when you are pregnant and crossing your legs and arms and even sitting can cause poor circulation. You may notice that it's easy for your legs to fall asleep more often pregnant especially near the later months when your ankles start to swell. It will just cause you discomfort and has nothing to do with your little bundle of joy.
All I can say is......wat next?
Yes its because of blood clots. Pregnant women need to be careful not to sit for too long without moving. So move your toes and ankles at least every 30 minutes and you should be fine.
I agree with baby1forme, there's nothing you can do to avoid the cord getting near the baby's neck, actually a LOT of babies wrap it around their entire bodies, and unwrap it themselves, I wouldn't stress about it. "They" also say not to put your hands above your head, because it may wrap the cord around the neck, not true.
The umbelical cord is not a pull string and we dont have control over if the baby gets it around its neck... so raising you hands above your head, sitting indian style, crossing your legs none of it has the ability to wrap the cord around babys neck! But i believe the reason for not crossing your ancles is it cuts off some blood flow to your feet and legs... you may ask your dr about it to be certain but im sure your legs ar not crossed more than they are uncrossed. I wouldnt worry to much about it.
I've never heard of This. And crossing my ankles is the only way I can seem to keep my legs closed when I'm sitting..its like since being pregnant they don't wanna close lol....or get comfortable when I sleep....
