DAMMIT!!

Excuse my impatience, but DAMMIT! I just give up. My lil boy is just NOT ready to come out is he? In April I had a false alarms because I experienced fluid coming out of me thinking he was just ready to pop out, and now my due date is next friday the 13th and still nothing! I went to the doctor's yesterday and I was only 2cm...last week I was almost 2cm, before that I was only 50%effaced...maybe it's just me and wanting to just have my lil David in my arms already, but IT SEEMS SO SLOOOOOOOW!! I was hoping I would be about 4cm dilated by now, but the doctor didn't seem too concerned about inducing me anytime soon. He said next week I should be at about 4cm, if not then they would discuss the "NEXT STEP". I just hope I'm not induced after my due date because I want him just in time for Father's Day, not a day later! lol AAAAHHH I'm so anxious and everything is going so slow for meee, I feel so miserable, my body, everything. And everyone asking me "when is the baby coming" I'm like"HOW THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO KNOW WHEN HE'S COMING!!" I mean I don't really say that I say it in my head but now I just say "I dunno!" It's hard for me to just keep a smile these days, my body is draaaained. HOW ARE ALL THE OTHER JUNE MOMMIES DOING?? Anymore baby news while I was gone??

i was actually told by another mom about the pregnancy massage that hales20 mentioned.  i don't really know much about them, but she swears by them!  when you're having sex to try to get labor started i believe its the sperm that is supposed to make you dilate/contract not just the the action!

No you shouldn't be concerned about loosing your plug, like dialating you can lose before labor starts or as labor is progressing.

Also is losing your mucous plug something that is SUPPOSED to happen? I haven't lost mine yet...should I be concerned? Or is that something that doesn't happen to everyone.

Hey,

How about getting a massage? (LOL a professional one - not one from DH LOL) they reckon that massages can induce labour.

Let us know how you go

I am due the same time you are, when I was checked this past week the baby still hasn't dropped, no effacement or dialating, so you are a couple steps before me.  Just remember you can stay 2 cm dialated for weeks with no other changes.  Beleive me when I say I know what you going through, my first dd was 12 days past due and I had no changes until the date of delivery.  My 2nd dd was 3 days past due and I didn't have changes either.  I know the emotional roller coaster you are on.
This time I'm not expecting any changes, becuase I don't want to get my hopes up.  The only thing I didn't expect was for my ob to pass away in his sleep just 2 weeks before my edd.  That is a different roller coaster that I didn't want to go on.  Keep up the faith it'll all be worth it.

Is there a medical reason why your doctor would induce you (rather than, for example, convenience)?  Induction is  more risky than going into labor naturally and DOUBLES the chances of needing a C-Section (fetal distress and complications w/ mother) therefore, it should only be done under certain circumstances where the benefits outweigh the risks.

Pregnancy and labor are not supposed to be comfortable and almost every women that goes through this experience is going to be miserable at one time or another - that is just part of the territory and something you need to deal w/ in order to create your miracle. Things will happen when they are ready to happen - not sooner, and not later.

miko- my acutal due date isn't the 13th but that's when my c-seciton is...  if it makes you feel any better i can't even say for sure if my baby has dropped yet (i've been carrying low).  i have no different discharge, i haven't lost my mucus plug, no contractions...  nothing!  i know none of those things need to happen in my case, but its still really frustrating b/c i want to see my body getting ready for it no matter what!

i know its been said before, but seriously...  go walking a lot!  if its too hot outside go to the mall.  have sex (i know you don't always want to at this point).  i think what put my sil in labor last year was riding in my car all over the freakin place.  when you're in the car you're not exactly comfortable and i think that helped push her over the top and she started having contractions (i was joking w/ her telling her she better not have her water break in my car!).

good luck, hun!!!!!!!

When's he's ready he'll be here...I know it seems like forever but just think...look how fast the last 9 months have gone...the next week or so is gonna go by in a jiffy.  Atleast you only have ONE week til your due date.  I still have NINE.  Dont' lose hope yet.  Just cuz you haven't progressed anymore doesn't mean you won't.  You may be one of those women who just suddenly progresses rapidly out of no where.
