The baby may have been re-absorbed. It is quite common to find no baby after miscarriage. Very dissappointing for you though, that they didn't discover this until 15 weeks. I lost mine at 9 weeks (baby died at 6weeks) and I was distraught.
Wishing you all the best.
Rest well, eat well and before long you may be pregnant again soon.
Yeah, they are the same thing, just different wording. I think D&C is more of an American usage and D&E is more of a European usage.
D&C and D&E are the same thing. I had a "D&C" and it was with the suction it's just whether the doctor has changed the term or not yet.
*tears* I had to have one done after my daughter was born... They recommended that I have one.. She was born at 20 wks, stillborn......
i just had a D&E on 3/3...i was 18 weeks preg and went into preterm labor...
i bled for about 2 weeks and now im not bleeding...my HCG should be back at 0 and im just waiting for first AF since
i spent a few days in the hosp after my procedure only because i lost a lot of blood from the preterm labor and early delivery of my son
good luck to you
a d & e is dialation and excvaution(sp) it is different then a d &c. They use more of a suction to clean out out of the uterus. I have a friend who was 14 weeks when they found out there was no baby becuase of a missed miscarriage but thtere was a placenta which was filling her uterous with blood so she was growing like she had a baby.
It means Dilation and Curretage. Basically they dilate your cervix and then take the baby and placenta and uterine lining out.
Did you already have the procedure? I'm pretty sure you would've been aware of the entire thing if you've already had it done?
I think what you are referring to is a D&C. It's an outpatient surgery. I had one after my miscarriage a few years ago.
