Dentist, pain med question!

So I'm about to schedule an appointment because I have 2 cavities that need fixed bad!! What would be the best pain med that's safe for my baby? My mom in law said ask for the gas but my husband said just get the shots!

Idk what I'm doing? Anyone been through this? What did you get and were there any complications with pregnancy or baby?

They have a shot that they give to pregnant women that doesn't have one of the ingredients as regular novacane. I have been to the dentist while pregnant.  Just let them know u want that stuff thats like reg. Novacane. Oh and it doesn't last as long so you wont be numb all day lol.

I called and made my appointment with the dentist for after my ob appointment so I can talk to my ob first

I had the secretary add to my chart that I'm 6 months pregnant so they know
and I asked to make sure if he does work on pregnant women and they said yes after the first trimester they will do dental work!!

My dentist had my OB sign something saying that should I need dental work they would use injectable anesthesia but it needs to be epinephrine free!!!

The dentist may ask for a referral from ur ob. I just had all 4 wisdom teeth pulled. While pregnant we are allowed certain amounts of novacaine and for pain tylenol or Tylenol with codeine.

They won't do the gas while pregnant, they will give you the shots of novicane . I've had multiple dentist trips this pregnancy.

The dentist should know what to give you. Did you let them know you were pregnant? You could even call your OB and ask and they should be able to tell you no problem
