Desperate for help!

Ok so this morning my 5 week son woke me up by making a weird noise like he couldn't breathe and sounded congested. I got him up went in the bathroom turned the hot water on and we sat in there for the steam.
He fell asleep on my chest so we went in the living room and he started the wet chocking not being able to breathe thing again. This kept going on and on. He was hungry so I fed him and when I was burping him he completely stopped breathing and his face was pure panic.
So I took him to the emergency room where they said he has reflux and to go to his normal doctor. So I went there and they gave him Zantac and told me to try switching formula to a.r.
This was seriously the scariest and most stressful thing I have ever dealt with. Now he has to eat less which he is so angry and keeps screaming for food but doc said 2 ounces every 2 hours.

Has this happened to anyone else? I'm terrified that in the morning it will happen again. Please can anyone tell me if they have experienced this and how they made it better!??

Please

My son did the same thing! I breastFed my son the first two months about 1/2 way into the third month I did all I could and had to sub the rest with formula. that made me so sad:( but by the time he was 5 months he had been on 4 different formulas. Finally they changed him to soy... But he started pooping and vomiting at 10-12 weeks stomach acid and bile. it was horrible. they said it was reflux..and after they put him on the soy he was better in less than 2 weeks!!! It wasn't that he was lactose Intolerant but that the soy sits less on their stomachs! Hope you get things figured out!! Also u can try wrapping a towel around a heating pad and lay behind the baby inyour arms and it will help relax and soothe while ur baby eats so they don't over do it....u can elevate the bassinette or crib so the head is higher than the feet..that will reduce it.. try to burp the baby every .5 oz instead of ever oz...my son is one now and he's doing great...I'm just trying to tell u a few methods I used that really seemed to help...( on a low setting)

OK sweetie. This *****. And is terribly scary! My daughter did this to me so many times I had to hit her on the back so hard till she screamed. Her face and lips would be blue. We had to switch formulas several several times and also used zantac. In the end I thought my baby was dying several times! They showed me techniques on what to do when it happened ( I insist you get this) we had to thicken the formula with rice and lessen feeding as well. She had tons of tests done and they found nothing! They just explained some have reflux so terrible. And that was the case. She grew out of it little bye little. Around 6 months itwas barely noticeable. Its hard I'm sorry you have go threw this. I used to cry cause she would be choking and they wanted me to pound her back she would get bruising. I felt like a terrible mother. But we got threw it. I know you will. Just have lots of patience.

Was your daughter not able to breath because of it? How long did the Zantac take to make that not happen anymore!

My daughter kept aspirating so they had to thickenher milk by adding rice cereal to her formula and also giving her zantac. Zantac works well for acid reflux she's able to eat without spitting up. Everything will be fine .
