Discouraged

If been following, I had my baby boy at 35 weeks Monday afternoon. And ofcourse like babies born early, he has a little respiratory issues. He's under the warmer to help him stabilize his body temperature and he's not eating as he should. They have a little feeding tube to help him.
He doesn't seem to want to breastfeed and it's just starting to take it's tow, he's so small, under the warmer and he his eating. As a new mom I'm starting to feel as if I failed him and I just want to tear up at seeing him.
I just want to hold him and be able to comfort him, but as they tell me I can't at the moment I just feel so gloomy and useless.

I had my son at 34+5 at the end of December and he was just over 4 1/2 lbs and he was fine. He was very healthy and only spent 8 days in the nicu. He was eating ok at first and then that changed so they gave him a feeding tube but it was out like the next day. Babys pick up on things quick. Yer baby will be fine

Please do not feel that you failed him. You did all you could as a pregnant women and he truely is in the best place having the best care. Just be there just next to him, am sure he will know you are there watching him. Am so sorry you feel the way you do but your in the best place right now. Good luck mummy, stay positive

Well,  in the picture he doesn't look tiny,  and he's got good color!

I think you should probably set up a time to talk to the head nurse in charge of him,  or pediatrician,  and ask questions.  You sound very worried about him but this may be completely expected,  or they may be concerned about him.  He's less than 2 days old - they may just be taking extra precautions.

Best wishes -
