I called my doctor today just to let them know about the dizzy spells and they checked my blood sugar, my blood pressure and my iron. All of them were within the normal range but my iron was right at the very bottom of the normal range. The dr told me that I am borderline anemic so I need to eat some sort of protein every 2 hours! I hope that works because I don't want to become anemic! Thank you all for your input, it was all very helpful!
I'm nearly 20 weeks and I to suffer from dizzy spells but mine are mostly caused from My heart problem but its normal go get them as blood pressure has risen
I am going to call my dr tomorrow just to let them know so if they want to check anything like my bp or my iron or anything else they can do that! I just want to tell them just so they know!
I had that and eventually found out that I have iron-deficiency anemia. Which is common in pregnancy. My doctor put me on iron pills twice a day. It could be something such as your sugar levels though. Ask your doctor about it... sometimes for me, I'd be lying in the bed and feel dizzy out of the blue. I'm not sure what week it started for me, but after my sugar test that I passed my doctor let me know about my iron being low.
Thanks, I haven't noticed my heart racing but I guess it wouldn't hurt to keep a check on it to see if that is what is going on. Thanks for the info, I'll check it and see what it is!
Have you checked your heart rate? I've been going through dizzy spells, but my heart is racing! Just today, I clocked my resting heart rate at 142 beats per minute. I don't know why it's going so fast. I called my doctor's office and am waiting to hear back from them. Best of luck to you!!
well I just had my blood sugar test (3 hour) done on Monday and the results came back fine! I had looked it up and read that it can be a result of low blood pressure also but I don't know if there is a different feeling when you have low blood pressure. I know when my blood pressure rises but I don't know what it feels like when your blood pressure drops. I was sitting down and had eaten my lunch. I had felt fine all morning before that but when I got up to put my dishes in the kitchen, that is when I got dizzy. However, it wasn't just for the moment. I am still kinda dizzy right now but not as bad. It has been basically 3 hours or so that I have been this way! I laid down after I put my kids down for their nap because I don't like the feeling of walking around feeling like I'm gonna fall or sitting there feeling lightheaded. I took a nap myself and when I woke up, I was still dizzy but not as bad. I wish I knew exactly what it was so I could know how to deal with it!
it could also be due to low blood pressure, everyone reacts to it differently. I get them because it is dropping, not due to low blood sugar (I am Type 1 diabetic and have never had dizziness as a result of a low). Its def something to bring up to your doctor at your next appointment.
I had this happen before and it was because I definitely needed to eat something. I know that they can happen when there is a drop or spike in your sugar levels. Keep eating something nutritious at regular intervals.
I learned to eat something almost every hour during the day when I was busy. I would eat my regular meals and then in between eat pieces of fruit or a handful of almonds. Just something to keep everything stable!
