Does an Implanon take your period away

I started my period 7 years ago. It has been regular for the last 7 years. I always start the 16th in the morning. I got an Implanon April 21 of this year. I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend on the 9th of May. He came in me 3 time that day. I am late and Im NEVER late. I know its only 3 days but im freaking out.. Am I over reacting?

implanon and depo provera are similar in the amt of hormones it releases into your body....both methods will stop periods eventually. I was on depo but AF stopped after my first shot so i'd think it would stop after getting implanon rather quickly.

try a test and you can always talk to your doctor and have them do a blood test to rule pregnancy out.

I absolutely hate implanon!!! I had it for three months and I spotted constantly and the doctor had told me that the majority of implanon users stop their periods while using it. Then I gained 10 pounds and my ovaries were swollen and tender and I had cysts. Then for some strange reason, my liver enzymes were elevated. So, long story short they removed it after only three months. And, I don't know if this is connected or not, but when my husband and I started ttc, I had problems conceiving. I had to use clomid to induce ovulation. :/ You might ought to test just to rule out pregnancy, but according to what my doctor told me, it's normal to spot and it's normal to stop.

i had the implanon in in 2007 and didnt get my period for a hole year mine always come on the exact dates and after i got the implanon in i never got them until i got it takin out hope this helps

Yes the implanon is known to stop periods or make them go crazy, I was on the implanon for 2yrs but ened up having very light periods ever 2wks and also made me a moody cow, sorry don't like the implanon one bit
