Dont want to pass 37 weeks (tmi)

Hello ladies, I know this might sound selfish but I dnt want my baby passing the 37th weeks mark. I dnt want a big baby, despite the fact that am sexually active, my birth canal seems to shrink and get tight the very nxt day. im currently 27wks, so 10 more wks.....im plannin to do everything possible starting week 35 to kick start labor naturally.....is it a bad idea?

Ok - after Kailyn told her what would happen if she forced her labor at 37 wks, I think missy gets the idea. No need for the 3rd degree after she's already changed her mind realizing it was a bad idea.

For the record though - missy, if you were a friend or family member asking me that, Id have to smack you upside the head. The pain of labor is the last thing to worry about. There are ways that the hospital has to help with any pain you only have to ask hun.

Being a GOOD parent means putting the health and well being of your child above your own. That's it, I'm gonna leave it at that but will add, HELL YEA IT'S A BAD IDEA!!

Let nature take its course. You maybe ready but the baby not ready.

Having a baby is going to hurt if they are 4 pounds or 10 pounds. Your body is pushing a head through your pelvis or they are coming out your abdomen so you're screwed either way. And the recovery is just the same if you deliver at 24 weeks, 36 weeks, or even at 42 weeks. No sense in trying to onset labor at 35 weeks thinking you are going to avoid pain from having a baby early.

I,had a 9 lb 10 Oz baby I,only weighted 130, he actually came a lot faster BC he was big, just because they are bigger doesnt necessarily mean its harder, my Dr said she sees some small babies cause more time and pain. Just depends.

I feel you, my boyfriend was over 9lbs when born nd his mom says he never had to wear newborn diapers, I'm terrified! Lol he's a big man even now so I have no doubt my baby will be big. Its scary to think of 6/7lb human come busting out of you,  even more so 9/10lbs! I feel you completely nd wouldn't mind him coming a little early, only on his terms tho!

This is beyond selfish. Period end of story. You're bringing life into this world and your concern is keeping your vagina tight? Am I wrong? Or are you worried about pain associated with birth? If your worried about pain then you need to research birthing methods like Bradley or hypno. Good luck to you and your baby

Try to remember your Vag will go back to normal after your baby is born no matter how big her or she is. I have all of my kids vaginally the biggest being 8lbs 10oz the smallest 7lbs 4oz and mine went back to the same tightness as when I was 17.

Maybe consider a scheduled c-section if you are worried about your vagina already at 27weeks, id hate to think how you will be feeling once u are 30-32 weeks. & also remember it doesnt matter how 'tight' or 'loose' a womans vagina is, u naturally dilate in labour & bringing labour on may give u more chance of 'ruining' your vagina. Let your baby come when its ready, not when you are..

Baby will come when he/she is ready! Can't force on labour it may stress out baby which is unnecessary!

Your baby is going to end up in the nicu and not be able to come home with you.. It's going to be connected to monitors and have needles in its arms and possibly a ventilator down its throat all because ur afraid of ruining your precious vaginal canal. You are selfish. Jeez

Also keep in mind babies lose weight after they are born, you want yours as healthy as can be. I don't understand why people say 8-10 lbs babies are big babies.. Cus really they are not.. 13lb babies are big babies.. Your body is set up for childbirth if there is no complications you'll be fine.. I know childbirth can be scary and filled with lots of worries, it's normal to feel like that..  This is my 2nd one and I'm still freaking out, but all will work out..

37 is still considered preterm. 38-41 weeks is full term! My cousin just delivered her baby at 37, and due to the stress of her "pushing herself into labor" the baby died of heart failure....

Yeah its defiantly nor a good idea...I just left my 37 week appointment and my baby OS only weighing 5'10 and my doctor said that's below average....I wouldn't be upset of I went over as long as my baby is healthy...a baby born that early could have a lot of problems...I know its tough but its worth it to have a healthy baby

I don't think your selfish but I don't think it's a good idea to "force" your baby out. I had a 9 pound baby and only weighed 124 pounds and was PAST my due date, and as bad as it hurt, I'm glad I had a big, healthy baby....
