Doppler but I cant find a heartbeat

I am 11 weeks 2 days pregnant and I have just got a fetal doppler so I can involve my children in the pregnancy but I can't find a heartbeat xxxx is it too early to find it at home or any tips would be great xxxx

it will be really low and can take a while..

the home dopplers are not as good generally but some people dont register on those until after 15 weeks

The dr couldn't pick mine up at 11 weeks and I'm a small girl. It might be a little early to detect something.

I wouldn't be too worried....PetiteWonder is right. The home doppler's usually pick up after 15wks....

Thanks guys im not too worried as I have had 2 scans and have seen and heard the heartbeat just wondered if everyone else found the same or if there are any tricks to hearing it earlier xxxx

Stupid smartphone! The heartbeat will be very low right usually above your pubic bone.  Good luck

I heard graco and heart to heart Doppler are awful. I heard great things about sonoline I think it's called

I didn't know you could own a doppler!!! Where can you get those? Are they expensive? I'm only 8 weeks pregnant but would love to be checking once in a while. First pregnancy for me and would be very excited to hear my baby's heartbeat already! :)

In order to hear the heartbeat that early you have to have medical grade doppler but even with those you can't always hear the heartbeat till the late second early third trimester. I'm 18 weeks had an appt last week and the dr couldnt get the baby to hold still long enough to get the heartbeat

Sorry submitted too early stupid phone. My dr had to use ultrasound to get the heartbeat. Also 1st time mommy19 you cant find the heartbeat on a doppler at 8 weeks. Drs will tell u not to buy dopplers because you cant always get a heartbeat on them and it stresses moms out.

i got my doppler off ebey brand new and is off doctor standard xxx its not cheap mine cost £90 but i got one due to having bleeding in this pregnancy and wanting everynow and then to have a listen to put my mind at rest xxx i cant wait for my girls to have a listen too as they are 7 and 8 and really excited xxx

I have a Hibebe Doppler (bought in 07' with my first) it wad around $125. Still works to this day and tells you how fast the heart is beating. I heard both of my daughters heartbeats at 10 weeks, but I knew where to look.

I agree with everyone that it's hard to find it that early at home. The baby is very low in between your pelvic bone. I am 18w and 5d and my doctor still has a little trouble finding it cause I'm carrying so low and the baby is always stubborn and lays in funny ways. My doctor even suggested not to use a home Doppler until the 3rd trimester because it tends to just cause un-needed stress on mommy. Hope you got the answer your looking for! :D
