Dr. said no sex....is orgasm okay???

I have a low lying placenta and the dr. is hopeful that it will resolve on its own but he told me no sex until my next ultrasound which is Dec. 23rd...I didn't ask him but now I am wondering...is orgasm okay without sex?

Thanks...I don't really want to call and ask, I hate calling because I always feel like a pain in the butt...Even though the office is always super nice!  I'll just hold off on any hanky panky with my body until I get my ultrasound.   It is scheduled for the 23rd...Two weeks 3 days...who's counting though lol  I am soooo hoping that my placenta has migrated on up where it should be!  The doctor seemed to think this was very normal and common and not too much of a concern.  He said it wasn't previa/not covering my cervix...and that hopefully as the uterus grows it would travel on up to the top.

i agree. no orgasims because it make you contract.  not til your uterus risies, which it usually does as the baby gets bigger.

Orgams ARE uterine contractions. So nope, no orgasms, sweetie! But you can probably still please your man if he can't wait that long.

I would totally call and ask.  we were told that there's a protein in the semen that induces contractions.  we had sex on Sunday (at 37 weeks pg) and my son was born two days later!  I would think that orgasms are more functional when trying to get pregnant - dunno...  ask and let us know!

usually an orgasm can cause some contrctions...

BUT i'd call and ask, because he may just not want you to have sex because your mans penis can hit the cervix and cause bleeding....  And orgasm may not cause bleeding.

But i'd call to be sure.

I would not recommend it - the contractions from the orgasm might detach the placenta.
