EWCM - Please help ladies

I have an ovulation related question. . .  And would love if someone with insight could help me out.

So, I've learned the stages of cm through the menstrual cycle, and I currently have the ewcm, which I know is the very fertile kind.  I'm in my 20's, and I hear women in their 20's can have it for about 5 days, and I believe I'm on day about 3 or 4 of mine.  What I'm wondering is, when during the ewcm does a woman usually ovulate?  And yes, I know I could go out and buy opk's, but I haven't had luck with that, and I'm trying to detect ovulation as best as I can without using opk's, or testing my bbt's, etc. . .

Any insight would be appreciated.  Thanks. :-D

Hi yes you can get vitamin b6 over the counter.not sure about the cream i think you could probably get it from any herbal shop,as for ewcm and not o'ing yes this is possible, women get it before and after ovulation, which proves to confuse some women,it can also be your body is gearing up to ovulate but doesnt.so keeps trying,i would definately try bbt, give it a couple months so you can see when you have temp shift...

When I was on bc I never got EWCM.  I was on it for 7 1/2 years.  Now I have been off it for 9 months.  Most months I get it and when I do I ALWAYS get AF 14 days later.  So I am assuming that is when I ovulated.  My cycles have been way off (since getting off the pill, then m/c'ing) and even if my period was 3 weeks late, I would always get EWCM 14 days before AF arrived.  I have never tracked my bbt or used OPK's, but I figure I can base it on that.  If after a year of trying and still no pg, then I am probably going to go that route.  Hope this info helps.

Yes, the OPK's never really detected ovulation for me either.  Around the time I would have ewcm, the test would be darker, but not once was the line as dark as the reference line.  But based on my ewcm, I'm almost positive I ovulated.

Maybe I'll just need to do my bbt this month. . . If after my 2ww I'm not pregnant.

Does anyone know if it's possible to get ewcm and NOT be ovulating?  I was on bc for years, and never once got the ewcm.  (to my recollection anyway) But as soon as I stopped taking it, I started getting it about 20-25 days into my 37 day cycle.

I understand what you are going through, trying to keep everything all together is kind of complicated as for as tracking ov at times. You're right I've heard  when you get ewcm for the last day you usually ov'ing. I have used opk before also but now I'm not having that much luck with them either & I don't use bbt at all bc I've never been good with those. My doctor told me opk is not good for all women bc sometimes they don't detect ov.

Hi there have you tried vitamin b6 i use this has lengthen my luteal phase by 3 days.i now have 13 day luteal phase as for  the exact timing of o.can differ each month, usually the actual ewcm is considered the last fertile day,so ideally as long as you bedding during the 5 days up to it,you are ok.you could try charting,it gives you somting to look back on,each month to check what cd you o.best of luck.

Hmmm...not sure about the ewcm and being able to pinpoint ov based on that alone BUT what do you mean by a short luteal phase...how short?  A normal luteal phase is approximately 12 - 16 days and needs to be at least 10 days for implantation to take place.  Is it at least 10 days?  Short luteal phases may be corrected with progesterone treatment. Maybe you should call your dr to talk about this option.  I know you said you didn't have any luck with opks...I don't either BUT bbt has been really helpful for me....there is a great site called Fertility Friend...you should check it out!

Just wanted to add that the reason I'm concerned about this, is I've heard that one ovulates when they last see the EWCM, but if that's the case, than my luteal phase seems shortened.  Does anyone else have a short luteal phase, and know how to fix it?
