Extremely loose stools.... over 38 weeks pregnant

I am just over 38 weeks pregnant and the last week or so I've noticed I've had loose stools, however the last day or so, it has almost turned to diarrhea (sorry TMI).  Everytime I have to go #2, it is the same type of deal.  When this happens it's like my stomach gets really hard and feels almost like menstrual cramps (so I"m not sure if I'm having a contraction or not when this is going on)....  It really hurts but once everything is out, I feel good again....

Has anybody had this and gone into labor soon??

Thanks!

I had mild contractions and loose stools toward the end of my pregnancy.  I called up to the OB department and they told me to come in to be monitored b/c loose stools are a sign of the beginning of labor!  It was a false alarm for me...but hopefully you're almost there!  :)

Thanks ladies!  I was in and out of the bathroom numerous times last night before I felt any better....  today my stomach just feels really heavy.  I guess it's a waiting game now.

I am going through the same thing right now (38w2d).  Very uncomfortable feeling.  No diarrhea per say (yet) but very loose stool.  Happens frequently throughout the day.  I don't remember it being this bad with my first (perhaps I just didn't notice it with her).  Am really hoping the end is near.

I had very loose stools for about 2 weeks with no break and then they turned to complete diarrhea the day I went into labor. It is definitely a common sign that labor is near!!! Good luck!!
