If you pay for all your appointments anyways you may as well just pay for a 3d ultrasound most places guarantee accuracy at like 16 weeks and after and if there unable to tell you the visit is free

15 weeks is early to tell with accuracy. From 18 to 22 weeks is better because the areas you need to look at are fully formed. :) 20 weeks is average.

Here, you have to schedule ultrasounds at the hospital because there isn't one in the office. You can't just request one here. We get one early to confirm the pregnancy (mine was @ 7 weeks), one at 20 and one at 36/38 (can't remember). I got one at 10 weeks in the ER because I was bleeding and some people get ultrasounds at like 13 weeks as part of a screening test. But really just 3.

If you're lucky enough to have an ultrasound at the office, feel free to ask but prepared for extras to not be covered by insurance. XD

I pay for all my visits, sonos, etc. I go to a private doctors office, my doctor told me whenever I feel the need or "want" for an ultrasound during an appoitment to let her know. So, I was going to request one on the 17th, my next appointment.

We got ours at 21+3 it was supposed to be 20+1 but they said it further along then they thought. But my midwife said for me to go at 18-20 weeks. And we're having a baby boy!

Really depends how ur doc is paid if ur private pay u can request wht u want my frnd is private pay nd gets one every three weeks!! If ur on insurance or medicade its up to them how many they pay for... But if I got a guess at 15weeks I wudnt run out nd buy stuff till it was confirmed later I opted out for a early sono just from past experiance I'd rather b 100% certain so I'm getting mine at 21... Ur still early hun but ur choice

You can't just request an ultra sound because you want one. A doctor will request one if he or she thinks an ultra sound is needed. 15 weeks is probably to early to tell. Try to remember that even though the ultra sounds are fun to see, they aren't for you. They are to make sure your baby is growing correctly and that there isn't any complications .. be patient. You're only pregnant for a short period of time.

I was told that they can til at 15 weeks but its not a sure thing they could be wrong most doctor make you wait til 18 to 20 weeks and it a 90% that they are right on the sex my doctor told me any sooner then 18 weeks its not a sure thing hope this helps a little :)
