Feel like a failure....

So I went to my dr today, baby is measuring 41 weeks. I've been in a lot of pain & baby is showing no interest in coming so they asked me if I wanted to be induced... Reluctanly I said yes. So I go in Sunday to begin induction. I feel like I'm throwing in the towel & giving up.. & I hate the feeling. At the same time I'm like relief is so close..urghh I just don't know. I was induced with my first, the second came naturally. So I just don't know.

I was induced and it was the best thing.. I was told he wouldn't have come because the way he was facing he wasn't putting enough pressure on my cervix. Sometimes they just need a little help

You are not a failure you are a mother who is very anxious to meet their beautiful baby who is very obviously ready to be here. Lots of women go through having to induce for many reasons. Congratulations Sunday you get to meet your baby!!

there is still alot you can do, and your by no means a failure!!, if you can you can go and get a pregnancy massage and get them to do your pressure points in your feet, you'll come away feeling fantastic and relaxed, alternativley you could go to a reflexology pla and get them to do your pressure points, acupuncture can also work  wonders in helping things along abit, then you have evening primrose oil, etc

You should never feel like a failure! sometimes these things are out of our control and the reason for an induction isnt because your giving up, in the end its best for baby...  if by chance you go into labour before sunday then so be it, if not youve carried this baby for how long?! your not a failure! and carrying the baby past a certain point carries its own risk- specifically for the baby... i went thru a failed induction and ended with a csection but thats the way it was meant to be and nothing i could have done would change it... same with you, its not like you havent given this baby how many weeks to come on its own... dont worry and enjoy the day! your gonna meet your baby!!

It's ok that you are being induced with you being this far. And hopefully what happened to my sister happens to you: on her second baby she had am appt to be induced and she went into labor the night before and was able to go natural. :)

I had the same experience with my son.  I knew I would be late as every woman in my family back to my greatgrandmother was late, so I was at least prepared for it.  I felt I waited as long as I could and if I waited any longer I might end up with a c-section.  Just remember it doesn't matter how your baby gets here as long as they get here healthy and you are healthy too.  Good luck!
