Fetal Fibronectin Test...

Anyone here have this done? What was your result? Did you end up having your baby prematurely or did you make it full term even with positive results? I am having this done tomorrow and they told me even if it does come back positive, it doesn't necessarily mean I have the baby before 36weeks. Last pregnancy, I had preterm labor, but never had this test done. My son was born at 36w3d but I was 4cm by 32weeks. Right now I am just about 30weeks and 2cm. Just curious what your results were if you had this test done or if anyone has information about this test. I am going to google it shortly here, just to see what I can find out, but I don't know a whole lot about it.

I am so hoping to make it 37 weeks this time around! My results were positive, so I am just trying to hang in there a few more weeks! June can't get here soon enough!

I had it done at 32 weeks and was induced at 39 weeks 5 days and delivered at 35 weeks 6 days!

I had it done at 31 weeks and it came back positive. Baby stayed put until 37 weeks when checked at my appt I was 4cm and my BP was elevated to a dangerous level. They ended up inducing me.

So for me even tho the positive freaked me out Gavin stayed in there until they decided he had to come out and say hello.. :)

Stay positive, or at least try to. I know it's hard. The test really isn't accurate for the majority of people, so I'm not sure why they even do it. Either way when you're in your position it's going to be impossible not to worry. I'm praying that she stays in her mommy's tummy for several more weeks! Let us know what the tests say!

Now I feel like if it's negative I should be concerned...lol :) Just trying to stay positive. I don't want to go through unnecessary worry!!

Mine was negative at 30, 32 and 34 weeks even though I had the baby at 35 weeks to the day.

I have a feeling now, if it's negative or positive, whatever is going to happen will happen....I'm not sure this test is even useful now. =/

I had it done at 34 wks.  It was negative.  My water broke at 37 wks.

alaysha~~ In your case you made it to term with a positive test, that's encouraging!! I was reading up on it on babycenter. com and they said if you have a history or preterm labor and if you are showing signs of preterm labor in the next pregnancy (either dilated or contracting), it could be a little more accurate, but it's still not 100%. I'm not sure what to think of the test now.

nicole~~ And yours was negative and you went into labor within 2 weeks. So strange!! Now I'm lost. It seems as though this test is almost pointless to a certain degree....
But they said they will do the test, then hook me up to monitors to watch the baby for about an hour and I should know within an hour the results from the test before I leave the hospital. We will see.

The fact that I went into labor last pregnancy at 32 weeks is almost enough for me to know it could happen again, but it may not either as every pregnancy is indeed different. I am just going to keep an eye on contractions/pressure and just keep getting checked every week I guess. It's frustrating not knowing what's going on, but I hope baby is okay in there.

I had this done, although mine was negative. I went into labor two weeks to the day it was done. My midwife said that it wasn't reliable if it was positive and that she didn't perform it on her patients. I had it done in L & D when I was contracting.

I had it done at 32 weeks when I was 2 cm and it came back positive. I was thrown on bed rest where I was only allowed to get out of bed to potty and given the steroid injections in my booty. Only dilated 2 more cm and delivered at exactly 39 weeks. At 36-37 weeks i started trying to help labor along and it wouldnt work. My first was earlier than her even without all the issues.
