Hi, These heart rates are generally just a sample. To do a good fetal monitoring you need to be on the machine for about an hour. The rate changes all the time. If you were resting your baby may have been. The rate will go higher if you have a drink of very cold water maybe try that next time. I wouldn't worry about these rates they sound good to me. I always heard anywhere between 120-180 is normal... 118 is not far off from that and it probably spiked above that at some point.... The heart beat is pretty fresh at this stage and will most likely increase a bit....
I believe I read heartbeats under 90 is cause for concern
