Flu shot or not?

My dr is concerned because i have not had one. He told me that if i catch the flu later in pregnancy ( especially the strain in our aria ) it can corse still birth. My predicament is that every time iv had the flu shot iv court the flu but when i don't get the shot i don't end up getting the flu? So to get the shot or not?

I've never had a flu shot neither has my bf we have never had the flu either and we chose not to get our daughter one she was born in winter too. She is almost 3 and has never been sick only a slight cold from when she was going to daycare. We dont plan to get one or have our son get one this time either. Make the best choice for u:)

Me getting the flu after reciving the shot is not a fluke of any kind. I have had the flu shot half my life and got the flu every time but have never court the flu when i haven't got the shot. The shot they give you is actuly a small does of the flu so that your body can bild up a bit of an amunity to it. My major concern is if i get the shot i will get te flu is it better to take the shot knowing i'll get the flu or risk not getting the shot and most likely not get the flu

Get the shot.  It does not cause you to get the flu.  You getting the flu after you got the shot (but presumably before it reached full effectiveness) was just bad luck, it takes a few weeks for the full strength of the immunity to come after getting the shot.  I got mine when pregnant and was so glad I did, the flu that year was awful and not only did I not get it, but I protected my son who was born when flu season was still going.

Getting the flu shot while your pregnant actually protects your baby for a year after he or she is born, it's important to get. If you don't image of your baby was born and caught the flu as a newborn, they can't give your baby a flu shot after it's born it's your job to protect it any way that you can. I got mine and didn't get the flu.
