Formula feed?

Has anyone decided to formula feed instead of breast feed? What were your reasonings? I'm 38wks + 1 day & I knew I would always breast feed but now I believe formula is going to work better. What type of formula are you using?

I breast fed and then had to supliment then formula fed once I dried up... I highly recommend breast feeding it was an amazing bonding experience and I lost 30 pounds in a month it was great plus formula is sooooooooo expensive

I did both formula and breast fed at first. I was a single mom at the time and had no help at all so the first few days we were home I used the ready to feed bottles at night only then was breast feeding during the day. I had a prob producing enough milk to feed my daughter so I had to switch to strictly formula I used the sensitive or fussiness and gas during the day (my daughter had a lot of gas) and the ready to feed at night.  Sounds lazy to use the ready to feed but I was strictly on my own with a newborn and had stitches I wasn't going up and down the stairs more times then I needed to

My daughter is exclusively BF, but for my son I got to 8 weeks before my milk dried up, I used Enfamil.. make sure you discuss formula choices with your babies pediatrician

Do you guys make sure your baby at least gets colostrum? Not judging, just curious.

I breast fed exclusively and it was great. Now He is formula fed during the day and breastfed at night. If you decide to BF, pump and freeze milk. Most places have to let you stop to pump. I'm a vet tech in a busy hospital and I will be stopping to pump, there is not a person in the world that can tell me that I can not pump for my child.

One of my reasonings for formula feeding is what you just said. When I start back work I won't have time to pump. I don't want to start breast feeding & have to quit. My baby is due in 13 days I start back working beginning of January because it'll be hard on him to switch & he can get constipated etc. Not trying to persuade you or be rude but for me that's why I'm going straight to formula

I breastfed my son exclusively till 6 months, then combo breast and formula till 9 months when he self weaned, and was straight formula till a year. I used similac and had no problems with it. Will probably do the same schedule with this baby.

Im planning on exclusively breastfeeding this time around my first two were formula fed and the last one was breastfed fo six months and then formula fed for the other six months. It's all personal reasons which one you choose but I did a lot of research before making my choice. I used the good start formula with my kids.

I've formula fed all three of my babies and I will this one too. My first it was just a personal choice. I was young and didn't feel comfortable or natural to me. I fed that baby enfamil and she was the healthiest baby you could ask for. Second baby i didn't produce any milk and he was fed parents choice. Again super healthy. Third I produced a little milk but she wouldn't latch and I wasn't producing enough to feed her only breast milk anyhow so we just went full time with formula. She had a traumatic birth and a lot of allergies so finding a formula for her was a little tricky but finally tried Good Start sensitive and it worked perfectly.

Thanks for sharing. Don't worry about petty drama, you had to do what's best for you. I want to use enfamil but I dk if my baby will be lactose or not because my husband is. I hope not

I formula fed my first two and plan to do so with this one. It's just personal preference.

I formula fed my first and Im going to formula feed this baby as well. I have my reasons but i would rather not express them on here because someone might start drama. But i will be using enfamil with this baby. My first was on similac neosure because he was born premature than switched to soy due to lactose intolerance.
