Getting Pregnant after a M/C

I just had a Miscarriage on Thanksgiving...my husband & I want to try right away. We got the okay from our doctor. The only problem is-I went off the pill in June of 2007 and my period has been irregular ever since. The last period I had was Aug 22nd...than I got pregnant and when I miscarried of course I bled. The bleeding has now stopped but I have no clue when my next period will come. So I can't take a test when I miss my period because I have no clue when that will be. So we are ttc and I just plan on taking a test in 2 weeks and see what happens. Anyone have a better idea or ever experience this? We just desperately want to get pregnant and we would love to know before Christmas.

My last period was August 12 2007.  When I went to my doctor, he told me that the fetus stopped growing at 7 weeks (when I went for my 9 week visit).  I tried to miscarry naturally, but after a month of constant bleeding, I went for a D&C.  It has been 2 weeks since my D&C.  My hubby and I had unprotected sex only a week after the D&C - I had a clear sticky cm - but not sure if it was because I was ovulating or not.  I took a pregnancy test before we did it just to make sure there wasn't any tissue left in there from the miscarriage - the pregnancy test showed up negative - which is good.  I figure, this way, I'll take another pregnancy test to see if I'm pregnant in about 20 days.   My doctor told me to wait at least one cycle.  I'm going to "try" to have protected sex with my hubby until I get my period (if I EVEN get my period.)  We'll see what happens - we're just gonna go with the flow!  Good luck!

I got pregnant about 6 weeks after my miscarriage. We didn't really "try" again just let it happen since you are more fertile after a miscarriage. What I would suggest is maybe an OPK so that you can see when you have a surge and then bd on that day. I've heard a lot of positive things about them! :)

It took me 8 weeks to get a period after my m/c. I became pregnant right away and now have an 8 month old daughter (I also have a 2 year old daughter who was born before m/c). I used the following method to get pregnant with her.

Anyway, you don't have to wait for your period to know when you're ovulating. I've posted many times on checking CM (cervical mucous). When you are fertile and ovulating, you will have CM (on toilet paper when you use the restroom) that is CLEAR (like raw egg whites) and stretches to an inch or more. EVERY time you use the restroom, check the toilet paper. If there is CM, take it between two fingers and stretch it out. If it is as I just described (clear and very stretchy), you are fertile and ovulating.

This method also helps so that when you become pregnant, you'll be able to tell your doctor, "I ovulated such-n-such day" so they can date your pregnancy more accurately. If you're not ovulating, you won't have that CM and will have to wait until next cycle (sometimes your body can be a little messed up after a m/c).

hello Gina. Im sorry for your loss. I went through the same thing you are going through. my doctor told me to wait one cycle and i ended up pregnant 2 weeks after the miscarriage.  I am now 11 weeks, but my peroids were also irregular and like you that also concerned me. Just leave it up to God and he will provide.
