Getting checked

So after you turn 36 weeks I know they start checking you. It really hurts to me I was checked at the hospital and I couldn't sit still. Do they do that at every appointment until you go into labor?

Sorry if it was tmi! I don't see the point in skirting around the issue, especially if it can help prevent tearing!

Your perinium (I'm just gonna put it out there bluntly) is that itty bitty bit of skin between your vagina and your butt hole. You (or your partner) massage it with your thumb with lube or extra virgin olive oil (depending on preference). It's a bit uncomfortable because if you're doing it properly you're stretching the tissue quite a bit, but the stretching helps prepare it to stretch (instead of tearing) at birth. It can be great foreplay or even after play. Semen can work great as lube, although you might want a little something extra.

I would research it. It's basically stretching and  massaging out your perineum... it's supposed to prevent tearing when you give birth

If it hurts you should Truly start doing your Perineal Massages. Never underestimate the power of this technique, especially knowing your Vajayjay is going to spread astronomically.

Good luck Ladies♥

I was never checked once before I was admitted to the birthing center on my due date, 12 hours into labor with contractions less than 5 minutes apart, and I asked for a status update. There's no good reason for it, it's just an opportunity for introducing bacteria into your cervix that can lead to infection. Whether you're dilated at all at 36 weeks gives absolutely no information to anyone. You can be 2 cm for two straight months or you can go from 0-10 in  three hours. If you don't want to be checked you can refuse. It's not useful to do it anyway.

I just got checked for the first time last week. My doctor was very quick and it wasn't painful at all. He said unless I requested it again there was no need to check at every appt. Of course every doc is different tho.

I think it depends on who checks you cuz when certain nurses checked me they were really rough but others were gentle
