Growth??

I just turned 8 months today and I been feeling a little worried. Through my whole pregnancy I been told Im too small. Before I got pregnant I was 125 then with throwing up not being able to hold anything down I dropped to 119 so my first appointment I had with a OBYN has me from 119 until now which I weigh in at 136. The doctor I see hasnt said anything about being to small or needing to gain more, but family, friends and even strangers all say I look to small. I know everyone is different but I just feel that maybe Im doing something wrong. It took people to realize by 7 months that I was even pregnant. People say that they just cant tell. Im also a FTM. Just need advise thanks. :)

Lucy@ good luck with that other U/S hopefully everything will be ok. Im 5'3 also and before pregnancy was 125 but then dropped in those few weeks of the trimester because of morning sickness. I guess bottom line is they are hust either making a statment or just jealous lol.

Thank you ladies for the positive responses that makes me feel a lot better. When I go on Wednesday I will just ask and be positive that everything is good. Ill have to tune people out and just tell them that my doctor says Im fine. Those comments do freak me out and I dont need that.  Thanks again :)

Some babies just are smaller so don't worry too much. For my past 2 appts I have been measuring 2 weeks smaller than my dates. If I still am at my next appt I am going to request another US just to check everything is ok with my daughter. But I am only 5'3 and 110lbs pre-pregnancy. I have actually had people tell me they are jealous that I haven't gained the massive amount they did while pregnant. I am 30w tomorrow and don't have a single stretchmark so far. As long as your Dr isn't concerned, I wouldn't worry

All you can do is eat as best you can---  always incorporating protein and take your prenatal vitamins.  Some things are out of our control.  And the babies are typically JUST FINE.  peace

I feel the exact same way! I'm almost 31 weeks and at my 20 week ultrasound the doctor said my girl was measuring small and then all my friends keep saying I'm so small and it's freaking me out so at my last appt. Thursday I just told the doctor I'm really worried about it and he took another look at my ultrasound and measured my stomach and I guess she's measuring bigger now. I would definitely let your doctor know you're worried about it and they can do a little more at your next appointment to make sure everything's okay.

To me, you sound like a concerned mama doing what she can!  You've had a rough pregnancy.  Not everyone gains massive weight.  We're all different.  So, just do the best you can to eat and keep it down.  That's ALL you can do hon.  Hang in there.

Thanks :). The beginning wasnt easy, I ended up in the er because I was so dehydrated I was put on IV and I couldnt keep anything down for more then 24 hours. And yes everything did get better. I just feel like I might end up like my mother and grandma that when they were pregnant for them they were all baby and I think I will be the same (which wouldnt be bad lol). I do hear people make comments about how they were huge and had a hard time dealing with it so maybe your right they are jealous or something. I also havent come out and ask if Im measuring ok either. They just measure and then listen to the heart beat and say everything is ok. I just want to make sure Im doing everything Im suppose to to make sure I have a healthy baby girl.

Hi there.  If your doctor isn't worried and the baby is developing fine, then no need to worry.  Most people offer opinions and have no real idea of what is 'okay'.  You kind to have to tune them out.  I'm sorry to hear that you've had such bad nausea and vomiting during your pregnancy though.  That stinks.  hopefully that is better now.  Anyway, again---  as long as your doctor says things are fine and baby is fine, don't worry about what others say.  Perhaps they are just jealous because they got so big during pregnancy and had so much work to do after the baby to get back to 'normal'.  Hang in there.
