HELP IM A DAD I THINK???
My girlfreind will kill me for putting this on med help so please keep it qwite. two months ago when she was exspecting her period nothing happend so we had the mass panick two pergnacey test both negative even went to the GP still nothing. we was told that due to new pill that may have stoped her cycle and if it happened next month to go back and we would have to change the pill again. Guess what it has happened again and just out of couriousity we decided to test again, it showed positive. What is going on can you have a false positive....
We had our first scan at 5 weeks to confirm she was pregnant, we are now 10 weeks. All is well she is taking folic acid and eating food like it is going out of fashion.Hormones all over the place, but its to be exspected. no heart beat yet but i belive that happen's about 12 weeks , "so not long now". We are all doing good my other son is looking forward to a baby brother or sister mums happy and glowing and my boss is happy, because im doing extra shifts. I will keep you all updated thankyou for the congratz...

Congrats!!! A positive is a positive. Those tests are 99% correct, so you have less than 1% chance of getting a false positive. False positives occur if the woman has had a shot or pill that contained HCG. Birth control pills do not contain HCG.

Well, congrats Marv126! So, I assume she went to the doctor and had it confirmed?
Well, you are going to a Dad. Congrats! I think. The chances of a false positive almost none at this point. I would get bloodwork done to see what her HCG levels are at. If they are under 100 then I would go and do the test again in a few days. They should double every 48 hours.
you can have false positives but they aren't as common as false negatives...she needs to have a ultrasound and/or bloodwork done to be sure
