Hacking up a lung!

Okay so I'm 19 weeks tomorrow. I've had a bad cold for the past 4 or 5 days, sneezing, runny nose, coughing. So I started taking Robitussin DM since the pharmacist said that's the only thing safe during pregnancy. It seems like my cough has gotten worse ever since I started taking it (its supposed to help loosen the mucus so I'll have a more productive cough) but nothing is coming up still. Its like its stuck in my chest and throat and its so annoying, especially when I have a coughing attack, I'm sitting there gagging and choking and even pee myself a little lol. I'm drinking plenty of water along with the meds. Does anyone know what else I could do to help this?! My doctor appointment isn't until next week and I'm not sure if I can take another week of this mess.

Get a humidifier! They work wonders for coughs. They should have small portable ones at your local drug store!

try a vapor bath (i know there is a baby vapor bath product) and poor a bunch into the bathtub and steam yourself out, or my grandma always used to do a warm bath and have her husband pat (pretty hard) on her back and she swore it really helped loosen mucus
