"Hard" heartbeat during pregnancy

I'm 20 weeks pregnant and when I lie down (esp. on my left side), I can feel my heartbeat.  It beats very hard and almost feels like it's going to jump out of my chest.  I don't feel dizzy, have SOB, or have headaches, and my B/P has been fine at all my OB appointments.

What could be causing this?  Should I be concerned?

During pregnancy your blood volume increases drastically.  Becuase of this it is not unusual for your heart to have to pump harder in order to move the large amount of blood through your body.  If you aren't experiencing any other symptoms when you notice this, I wouldn't be concerned.  However, it never hurts to mention it to your ob just for some peace of mind.  BTW, I'm on my 6th pregnancy that has made it full term and I have noticed the same thing with several of them, including this one.
