Has anyone been told it's not safe to fly before 12 weeks??

My ob office called to schedule some follow up blood work for next week and I told them I will be in Florida. The nurse told me I should be flying before 12 weeks because it increases your chances for a mc.

Has anyone ever heard this before?????

Thanks guys I thought that was the case. I'm so angry with that nurse she really stressed me out. I'm going in tomorrow for another u/s and I'm going to mention it to the ob. At the same time my husband is harassing me about going to california at the end of June and I will be about 33 weeks by then. Since I went into preterm labor with my son at 19 weeks and it lasted until 34 weeks I don't want to risk flying at all later in pregnancy. He thinks I'm being paranoid.

I should tell him to just buy the ticket, but if the dr says I can't fly then he can't go either.

I flew at 7 weeks and my doctor said it was completely fine and safe. Unless your high risk its fine. They say not to fly after 35 weeks.

I flew at 6 weeks with no problem.  They usually don't recommend flying later in pregnancy in case you give birth on a plane the flight attendants don't have training for it but not because of complicating your pregnancy.

I have a high risk Dr. an they told me not to fly after 20 weeks.  The pressure can cause premature labor.  Anita
