Has anyone tried a post partum wrap to help get their stomach back in shape?

Hi ladies!  I hope this doesn't sound vain BUT I have been looking into post partum wraps for after delivery.  I read an article in a magazine with Brooke Burke in it (who looks amazing after kids...her hubby is a plastic surgeon though...hmmmmm.....) BUT she has her own line of post partum wraps called Tauts and she says that after her first child, her MIL wrapped her up in ace bandages and then she created this wrap by the time her second child came.  So, this got me thinking and I've been reading a lot about them online...there's a line called 'belly bandit', Medela makes one...Has anyone ever tried one of these or a similar wrap after birth?

Just curious...

I got the Medela brand post-partum wrap. My daughter is 3 weeks old now, and I have been wearing it since the day after she was born. It is a little annoying, it sometimes bunches up and gets all displaced, but I really think it has done a lot as far as making my belly smaller. I had a little belly to begin with, so my stomach is not by any means flat, but it is already pretty darn close to being like it was before I got pregnant. I am nursing too, so I don't know how much that has to do with weight loss and my stomach going down, but it seems to be helping. I  got it really cheap off of ebay too, I think it was $30 with shipping. I don't know about wearing it in the summer, I think it may get a little sweaty, and it doesn't really hide well under thin clothing.

So overall, I like it and I think it helped, but I am glad I didn't go all out and pay for the more expensive ones that are advertised in the maternity magazines. You can PM me if  you have any questions about it, I would be glad to give my opinion  :)

I did not, but I WISH I had. My friend did, and she swore by it!

Whoops I didn't realize your first post was about that one, sorry :)

The website does recommend getting two so that you have one clean wrap while the other is drying since you have to air dry them.

I did originally post about the belly bandit...I didn't realize that the bamboo one was cooler....I might buy a few and see which one ends up being my fave!  I've never had a tummy before pregnancy so I'll be pretty eager to get back to my pre pregnancy shape!

You could also look into the "Bellybandit" it is another brand of wrap and they have it in bamboo material which is eco friendly and is supposed to be much cooler in the summer. I am thinking of going with that one.

after my c-setion the hospital gave me a wrap to help the swelling and the pain.  they said it can also help with bringing your belly down,  it was not the most attractive thin g to wear but it big pre-position things and suck in when you had it on.

I just checked out the spanx...I'm not sure I like the girdle because it goes down to your knees BUT they do have other ones that are legless...I'll keep looking and update if I make a choice!

The price was decent too...

The Ardyss one was like $100...and I'm not wild about the legs...I want to wear it during the summer...the consistent idea behind the girdle/wrap says to wear it daily for 40 days...

SPANX is a good idea, the wraps look pretty bulky and uncomfortable for the summer. I think I might try one, my skin never went back to normal after my first, maybe a girdle of some sort will help.

I never used a special post partum wrap, but after my first son & now with my second I wore SPANX Higher power girdles. I swear they are amazing. You know how when people get lipo they have to wear a girdle after so their skin return to being tight? I think that it is the same concept...

I was wondering the same thing, I'm not sure what brand it was but I saw a belly wrap in a pregnancy magazine and it got me really curious. I would love to be able to loose weight more quickly with this baby since I will be getting married 11 months after my due date and I want to start dress shopping ASAP. I hope someone on here has tried them, I don't want to waste the money so I would like to hear some success stories.

Haven't really heard of any of the products you mentioned so I can't comment on them. The one product that I've heard of from a lot of women is the Post Partum Girdle sold by a company named Ardyss, Intl. It's supposed to help with the bloating/swelling of the tummy and surrounding area to help you get back into your pre-pregnancy shape fast. I'm gonna look into it sometime in the near future. Just thought you may want to look into that as well. Good luck and let me know if you find something that works! :)
