Has anyone used progesterone to get pregnant?

My husband and I have been trying to concieve for a few months. I went to the doctors today and she put me on progesterone medication to help me ovulate. She told me it's possible to get pregnant right away. Has anyone gotten pregnant shortly after taking progesterone pills? Thanks!

Sarah,
My doctor put my on progesterone to help me ovulate because I will go an entire year without a period if I do not take any medication for it. The last time I took an 8 day presciption was in July, & now im pregnant!! Also, he would make me take pregnancy test b/w prescriptions, b/c he said it can cause a miscarriage. The prescription might have been called provera???not sure.

Um ..if i was u sarah i would find a new dr cause like diane said u can take it to stay pg but ...you do not want to take it before ovulaton ,cause it will make u NOT ovulate......therfore wait untill u are sure u ovulated and then take it 2 days after and continue either till ur pg..or af comes...and if ur pg take it for the first 12 weeks ,i know from expierence..trust me..it will not make you ovulate....

i found that out after months of trying that the progesterone was standing in my way cause i took it to soon....

My dr has me taking prometrium- which is basically progesterone starting when I ovulate until I'm twelve weeks or I get my period...  I've been told that progesterone helps stay pregnant and that sometimes early term miscarriages are caused by low progesterone levels - I've never heard of taking it to ovulate...
